90s Sci-Fi Horror Movie/TV movie/cable episode
I’ve been trying to find this film for awhile, and it's very frustrating because I'm going off of pure childhood memory. I once saw this movie on TV around 2003 - It was a 90s B horror film (or possibly a made-for-cable television movie / late-night Sci-Fi Channel type thing, or even an anthology episode perhaps) in the same vain as Death Machine, Evolver, Class of 1999 or Hardware.
The premise of the film was a group of teens/young adults are trapped inside of a building that I think is an arcade or a toy warehouse. There’s a cyborg / robot monster on the loose and hunting them.
-The monster initially looks like a skinless human with visible wires integrated into it's head, (very similar to how the gym teacher android looked from Class of 1999 after getting hit by that bus) it then evolves into a more metallic, armored form as the movie goes on.
Scenes I can recall:
-The scene where the monster reveal is; a security employee locks himself inside a room in order to trap the monster inside, then starts frantically looking for it, and that's when you first see it's face appear behind him, just before it gores him.
-There’s a scene where one character’s boyfriend comes looking for her. The group can see him on a surveillance camera but cannot get his attention, as he’s knocking on a door, he then gets angry and says something that makes the whole group realize he’s an abusive asshole - which leads me to believe one of the girls in the group works in this building.
-The monster/cyborg says “SHUT UP!” to a scientist character who presumably works in the building.
I’ve already ruled out: Demonic Toys, Arcade, Chopping Mall, Hardware, Intruder, Evolver, Death Machine, Nemesis, Prototype, Eve of Destruction, Class of 1999, and Project Shadowchaser.
It might not even be a movie — it could be straight-to-cable broadcast or a one-off TV episode.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Even if you only remember part of it, please reply. I’ve been searching for years and would love to finally put this to rest.
