I’m 11 weeks postpartum and baby has a tongue tie. We have an appointment with a pediatric dentist Monday to get it assessed and possibly fixed. I have gone through triple feeding for weeks on end, mastitis twice, blisters upon blisters, and many tears. I want to get to entirely or mostly breastfeeding if the tie is fixed but I’m afraid I don’t make enough since she’s had such a bad latch and my breasts weren’t getting the right signals. I was pumping 2-3 oz on one side before the second bought of mastitis but I just finished antibiotics and I’m getting 1.5 on that side and 1 on the other.

She takes a 4oz bottle of 3oz formula and 1 oz breastmilk. I breastfeed if she wakes up at night and in the morning with a supplementary bottle of 3oz after the morning breastfeed.

Can I do the “breastfeeding vacation” method and increase my supply if her tie is fixed or is it too late? I’ve been on the verge of giving up for weeks now but I want to be able to do this, especially to be able to give her health benefits. Has anyone gone through this and been able to go back to breastfeeding?
