I will be completing my 3rd year at an IIT and will be joining as an intern at a tech firm over the summer. During my on campus internship season I wasn't able to secure an internship in quant finance domain.

The company which I'll be joining is good but sde doesn't interest me. And I am afraid that if I go into SDE then I won't be able to switch easily. On campus placements dont look good for my campus in terms of quant. Even though I am a math major with fairly good grades I dont know if I have any chances to break into quant finance.

Please provide some helpful and realistic suggestions.
