IVDD help

Our worst nightmare happened Saturday. Our boy woke up and couldn’t move his hind legs. We rushed him to emergency vet- CT showed L1 disc herniation and they did emergent surgery. He had a good prognosis as he still could move his left hind leg a bit and still had sensation. He’s also young and active so had most things going for him. The surgery went well. Today is the end of post op day 1, he is making no effort to move his hind legs and has needed cathed and expressed to void. Not sure what I’m looking for here but support. Any success stories of a similar post op trajectory? Any success stories of doxies with a good quality of life with the worst case scenario for our pup being no regain of function of hind legs or bladder? Thank you all.
