Basically, I 19/M and took the STEM strand when I was at SHS, applied to UST s.y. 26/27 a few months ago with my first choice (prio program) supposedly being Psychology and my second (alt program) being Sports Science. Unfortunately for me I accidentally swapped them during the time on which I was editing my application. I basically ended up submitting it and realized on the day of my exam that I got them mixed up.
Fast forward to when the USTET results came up, I got waitlisted to College of Rehabilitation Sciences - Sports Science which meant that my alt program wouldn't be processed anymore. This was basically a big deal for me since I really would've liked studying about Psych but now it's gone and I guess it's fine. Reason being is that I recently got informed from my high school teachers to not sweat about it that much because they see me in a field much better than Psych, which was in Education. This was oddly timed as prior to the releasing of the USTET results, weeks earlier was the DCAT results; wherein my course was redirected since they explained that after examining my files, they didn't find me fitting on the courses I choose. So, rather than rejecting me, they offered different various courses in which I can choose from to enter DLSU. Whilst reading all the available courses for me to study, one oddly particular course caught my attention, and that course being Early Childhood Education. I thought about it for a few hours debating whether or not I'd be good at the job and would I actually enjoy it. Luckily for me I was actually great with kids and I occasionally get complimented for my patience and maturity at times. These kinds of realizations were great coming from a person who isn't a 100% sure yet of what they want to be when they grow up.
Ending this post with one of my current dilemmas. Suppose I was given the slot and in the end chose UST, would I be able to shift my course from CRS - Sports Science to CE - Early Childhood Education without having extra credits and plus 1 year to my studies? Or because the two are significantly different from one another that I would inevitably have to do more credits and be adding a year more to my studies.
note: advanced thanks to those who'll reply cuz tis my first time posting and btw to the peeps that would say na just go for dlsu since they offered you the course naman there. well, i hoped it were that easy, im js rlly considering the difference in expenses between ust and dlsu cuz its something i should take into consideration no? all ts falls into another dilemma i have which is choosing the right uni for me regardless of the course. but ofc that whole conversation of me yapping abt the pros and cons FOR ME abt both universities deserves a whole new post.
