Life in the valley
What’s good! I’ve been living in the valley since 2023, and this is just an update. I’m originally from Louisiana. I decided to move here after getting my heart broken and taking a chance with a random city generator. Fast forward, it’s been 3 years. When I first moved to Los Angeles, I had $1500 to my name and stayed in a hostel Airbnb on Hoover St. in Los Angeles. I shared one room with 9 strangers , which had 3 bunk beds stacked three high. Then I moved to Northridge ( had to share a bedroom with one person in a two-bed apartment) to attend CSUN, and within a month of hard work, I was able to get a car. A year and a half later, one of my roommates decided to move, and my family talked to me about how I should man up and decide to take the room for myself, which I did for 2.5 years. Fast forward to now- within a week, I will be moving into my own apartment. I did all this while pursuing my master's in computer science, working full-time at Lowe’s, and doing Uber on the side. It took a lot of hard work, but it’s a great feeling to finally break free from being trapped in Louisiana.
