Here’s a rare piece from my collection… does anyone know more about it?

Picked this up a few month’s back and it’s one of the more unusual pieces in my Dreamcast collection.

This is the SNK Neo Geo Pocket–Dreamcast Communication Connector Cable (NEOP22020), used to transfer data between compatible Dreamcast and Neo Geo Pocket Color games such as Capcom vs. SNK and King of Fighters R-2.

Most examples I see online are the Japanese version. I was lucky enough to find this English language boxed release through a seller in Europe.

I’m still researching its distribution history and rarity. Was this officially sold in North America, Japan & Europe? And how many compatible games do you know of that supported it?

Would love to hear from anyone who owned one back in the day or has more information on it.

Before Xbox Live: Dreamcast Web Browser 2.0 Variants & SegaNet History

Long before digital storefronts and modern online services, Sega was already pushing internet connectivity on consoles through SegaNet and the Dreamcast Web Browser.

Here are a few North American variants of my collection for the Dreamcast Web Browser 2.0 release,

What makes these interesting to collect is how many were distributed differently depending on console bundles, SegaNet sign-up campaigns, and retail promotions during the early 2000s.

Looking back now, it’s wild how far ahead of the curve the Dreamcast really was with online console gaming. How was your experience with Sega Net ?
