I'll start: the Avicii version of Rebel Heart. I think it's fair to say that we all know the og vision of Rebel Heart is the one she should've stuck with, and I think that's encapsulated in this delightful track. Runner up for me? The incredible new wave Stay demo. What's yours?
And it's no shade at all to the songs before and after, they're all amazing, but this run of tracks is astonishing. "Love Without Words" has my heart, it makes my head tuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrn
It is SO fun and that chorus is amazing! Ive seen it getting dragged but it's sooooo clearly tongue in cheek, intentionally camp as hell. It obviously doesn't have a place on the album proper but as a cute extra, I love it. You're my desiiiiiire BABY!
I was watching the Confessions movie and then I got to thinking, SO much work has gone into this album, not just musically. Which don't get me wrong, I'm still blown apart by the album. But all of it has been immaculate and a real throwback to the glory days when pop stars and labels gave a fuck. Stuart and M and friends have been everywhere, there's all these pop-up places and club nights. M performing in Times Square, and all the interviews and everything. And if all that effort has done nothing else, it's reminded people that she's still the best to ever do it. I just feel so...... thankful to have her, always, but particularly in light of all of the health issues and whatever else was going on for a few years before the Celebration tour. She came back and she's showing everybody how it should be done, at 67 years old

I'm sorry for this rant, and I fully get if it gets deleted, but I'm so fucking sick of CF2 being viewed in numbers (X only had 45 listens this week! Etc). And she's releasing the best she's released in two decades, possibly ever. She's asking you to put down phones and get into the music and fucking dance.
Not a (very) serious complaint, I'm feeling incredibly well fed by her this era buttttttt I need Danceteria in particular in my ear holes already!
Am I crazy or was she mostly singing live? I think there was a few times she was lipping (the chorus of Hung Up, I don't think she likes doing the higher registry stuff anymore), or singing over a backing track, but there's a ton of "flaws" and her breathing and stuff that you can hear throughout. She sounded great, particularly on I Love New York weirdly enough.
The production and her vocals, lush.
This is a cruel and unusual torture, waiting for Confessions part 2. I can, and will, and have listened to IFSF and BYL on repeat but I'm pretty desperate at this point to hear another track. What do we think the chances are of her dropping something else before the album releases?
And the demo is new wave beauty and I wish she'd explored that sound more.
It seems she's gone very house music on Confessions 2, and I've seen some push back against that, that the tracks don't "fit" COADF. But to me, I felt since she announced the title that it was more a call to arms, a call to return to dance in all it's forms, for us and her. In the way the og was asking us to go back with her after Ray of Light and Music and American Life, the new seem to be doing the same, but she was never going to just give us Hung Up #2, Sorry #2 etc. Am I wrong here? The tracks we've heard so far have all sounded amazing to me. She's not playing on nostalgia, she just wants to dance and that's what Confessions as a statement means
