Opinions on Professional Caulk Application
Context:
We have had our house for about 3 years now. Shortly after moving in, we got bamboozled into getting our tub/shower replaced by one of those overpriced home renovation/acrylic surround companies.
There were a lot of issues with the install (including them needing to complete recut the surround due to plumbing/alignment problems). The original caulk job looked passable, but quickly yellowed within a month or so (were told it was hard water-- we had a brand new water softener installed. Plus the yellowing extended way past where water even touches). And shortly after that the caulk started to separate. Keep in mind we waited a full 48 hours to allow caulk to cure before using the shower (they advised 24 hours).
So anyway. We finally got them to redo the caulk and... I dunno I wanted to get some opinions. I want to be fair, but my patience is wearing thin. Is this kind of a slap job or what? 😅 I don't want to say how much we paid for this entire experience, but I will if it's relevant. I feel like the price was unnecessarily high for the quality of product and service we received, but maybe if you want nice finish work you have to chop your arm off idk.
