I've been struggling to visualise Heavens River and get a sense of its insane scale.

I was really pleased to stumble upon a reference to it in a YouTube video comparing Spin gravity of various sci fi space structures.

I get it now. Heavens River is insane, no wonder the bobs were stunned by it!

Hi all. I'm still new to miniature painting and I'm consistently struggling to get contrasting right.

I've thinned Magos Purple down about 4:1 and applied a decent amount, pushing into the gaps rather than painting stokes.

It looks great while still wet, but as it dries i end up with this (pictured). It dries with a strong colour in some places that appeared clear before, and dries clear in some places that I wanted coloured.

Contrasting advise welcomed!
