My lasius niger colony (first one, started last year) is outgrowing the fruit flies I have been giving them. They're consuming them faster than my colony is replenishing itself.

I have maybe 40-50 workers and a huge brood waiting to explode, so I think it's time to upgrade their foodstuff.

I'm UK based and am thinking black crickets seems a decent size jump? Dubai roaches seem a step too far, being pretty massive.

Any advice and suggestions would be appreciated.
