C.L.U.E report doesn’t list as "not at fault"
A month ago I got sideswiped by a truck on the interstate which smashed by car into the guard rail. I was found 0% at fault by Progressive, who was the insurance carrier by myself and the other party. They paid me out for the car, I bought a new car, and now I need to get insurance for that car.
I was concerned about how this would affect my insurance rates, so I requested my C.L.U.E report from Lexis Nexis. I got the report in the mail yesterday and noticed that the At Fault Indicator field for this accident was left completely blank.
After some quick googling, it seems that Progressive is one company where they don’t directly list when somebody is NOT at fault. I get that my rates will likely go up regardless because my insurance had to write me a check, but I’m really worried that my rates will go up more than they ought to because insurance companies won’t be able to clearly see that I was not at fault for this accident.
What are the chances that this field being left blank will make my rates higher unnecessarily? Is it worth reaching out to Progressive to see if they can mark the accident as specifically "Not At Fault"? It’s annoying because I’m likely going to end up purchasing coverage from Progressive anyway.
