Maps does not always move when I input a location

Let's see if I can explain this. When I open Google Maps and type in a location that I want to see, more often than not it doesn't move the map to that location. It just sits at my default location or wherever I was last at.

So, just now I opened up Maps and it centers on Los Angeles, my current location. So then I typed in a city in the Midwest … and the pane on the left opens up with the location and some facts, but the map didn't move. Only if I hit F5 to refresh will it re-center. Closed Maps and tried it again with a larger town – Minneapolis – and it recentered. After that if I closed and tried the smaller town again, this time it moved to that location.

So, it is sort of hit and miss, but sort of annoying, too. Maybe I should be asking if this is a Chrome issue, or a Maps issue.

Windows 11 Pro,v. 24H2. Using Google Chrome, 148.0.7778.169.

Rewatch: “By Any Other Name”

Tonight’s H&I episode. There are many episodes that I note, and then move on and don’t watch. This is one of those that I stay and watch.

Questions that occurred tonight:

  1. If all your crew got turned into little mineral polyhedrons, wouldn’t you go around and collect them to make sure they didn’t get damaged?!
(Good thing none of those instruments dropped on top of them when they got crystallized!)

  2. At the beginning, the Kelvins seem very pale. But as the episode goes on and they fall prey to human emotions, they start taking on some color. Anyone else ever notice this?

Anyway, I love this episode.
