Help removing a list from the map

Hello, just as the title says, I'm trying to remove a list of all Metro stations from Google maps in my local area. While doing a search of all stations on Google, I clicked on an image, and it automatically added all the stations to my map. Map. While convenient. Initially, I can now not remove them. I know there's a simple fix, and I appreciate any help.

[iOS] aggressive, unwanted refresh behavior continues (sigh).

The ongoing issue of unwanted refresh behavior on the Reddit feed is back. And more annoying than ever. It is especially bad when you first open the app, or re-attend the app, after setting your phone aside for a few minutes…

Your attention begins to settle on interesting things in your feed, but before you can open and explore an interesting post—“bam!” You are force-refreshed, back to the top of your feed. And there will be a flurry of this, for two or three times until the feed “settles down” again.

I really don’t understand why it is so challenging to eliminate this unwanted navigation behavior. It’s a basic function. Is the coding for this app so farmed out, that basic fixes are no longer capable?

Very frustrating, long time Reddit user. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Thanks for sending me into an hour long traffic jam Google

If this route is blue, I'd hate to see what yellow or red are. Wish I could post my screenshot but apparently, well why would a subreddit about maps want any screenshots...

How to get "your location" back as an option for starting point?

Hi, I used to have the option for "your location" or "choose on map" when looking up directions. Now I only have "choose on map." So I have to select choose on map, and then press the blue dot locater thing for it to find me, and then put the red pin thing on top of me. This is especially difficult when I'm on public transit that moves faster than I can match the red pin with my blue location dot, if that makes sense. When I look up a place initially, "my location" is the default, but once I try changing it again, it's no longer an option. Please help!

I remember having this issue a few years ago and the solution was to turn on "precise" location. But this time my location settings are all on and set to precise, so that's not the solution now. I cleared the cache, cleared the storage, force stopped the app, "uninstalled" the app (says it uninstalls updates), and restarted my phone. Anyone have a solution for this?

Google Maps integration.

So when we moved everything over to gemini in google home the only everyday issue my family had is that it no longer sent Google Maps directions to our phones. It's now July and it still doesn't do that. Does anyone know why this feature which seems so basic has been disabled?

Did google remove the subcategory emojis?

I was making a list of routes and destinations for motorcycle rides. Like 3 days ago I found that you could add subcategory emojis. It was great for distinguishing between places I've already road and hadn't yet plus which state they were in. It also helped for filtering which ride I wanted to try that day with the subcategory filters while selected on the list. Now the option to add the subcategory while saving a location is gone but the filter options for the places that already have a subcategory is still there. Is this a bug or did google remove this feature and just leave a reminder that it's possible but they just hate us???

TLDR: Subcategory emojis were available to me less than a week ago but they're now not an option. I can still afilter the list with the emojis though.

Google street view still hates its own imagery over a year later. (HUGE BUG)

Already made a post about this AGES ago, so heres a more clearer explanation.

If you click the link and put the pegman on a random part of the road. You will ALWAYS spawn on 2024 imagery despite that being outdated. You must then manually enter the menu to choose the latest 2025 imagery, you will then notice its blurry, low quality and is extremely bright. Then, click down the road a few times, you cant even go far without it reverting to even older imagery (often starts at 2024). Then keep going, every 3-5 clicks it will just keep selecting you at a seemingly randomised date. The only way to get it back is to click "see latest date", then start moving again and it will shortly move you back to a random date even its 10 years old, then just lock you at it until you change back manually.

What is strange is this ONLY happens on roads, where the latest imagery is that extremely bright, blurry cameras. Everywhere else where the latest is a clear camera, google will permanently keep you on the latest imagery available (even if it does bump you to older, just move 1 step and you are immediately back on latest). As more countries move to this "newer" camera, more of the world is becoming pretty much unavigable without having to change the date every 10 seconds!

How can I reach out to a customer privately on Google Maps, without my parents knowing?

I cant edit the title. I meant, How can I reach out to a customer, without my parents knowing?

I will get in trouble for using my mother’s account to reply.

A customer left a positive review, 2-3 months ago. Around the 3rd week of June, He had a bad experience. It wasn’t resolved, it was taken for granted. I feel absolutely horrible about it as if I was there, it would’ve been resolved. I can’t use the business page to message/reply to his first review as it’s under my mother’s email address. I have searched for his instagram, Facebook by using his name. I can’t find anything.. My mother is partially responsible for this situation being like this as She didn’t show him the footage. He is a regular, we can’t afford to lose customers or this guy in particular. Any assistance will be appreciated. 🙏😀

Google Maps is transitioning from a GIS-utility to a 'contained' advertising/engagement platform, and it’s killing usability

The problem: Google Maps (especially when integrated into Search and Gemini) has shifted from being a low-latency, high-interactivity GIS tool into a bloated, state-constrained "experience" container.

As someone working in backend development, it’s frustrating to see the blatant disregard for basic UI/UX principles in favor of maximizing engagement metrics. We are effectively losing the ability to use Maps as a tool—a viewport for spatial exploration—in favor of being funneled into a highly curated, static output.

The core issues:

  • Loss of Interactivity: In the current Search/Gemini integration, the map has been downgraded to a quasi-static widget. POIs (Points of Interest) are often non-clickable or lack their expected metadata depth. You can’t "explore" anymore; you can only "consume" the single output the system decides to show you.
  • The "Context Wall": There is no longer a path to open a "clean" map instance. The system forces a context (search queries, route suggestions, ads) upon the map viewport, making the simple act of opening a map to pan/zoom around an area incredibly clunky.
  • Architecture Bloat: It feels like the product team is forcing a chat-first experience onto an application that should be map-first. By forcing all interaction through a conversational layer, they are breaking the state management of the map itself.

The underlying issue: We’re seeing a shift from "Software as a Tool" to "Software as a Platform for Retention." It’s a design failure that prioritizes engagement over the core value proposition of a mapping service: the ability to freely navigate and access spatial data with minimal friction.

Is anyone else finding the current Maps integration completely unusable for power-user tasks? How are you handling the degradation of what was once an essential utility?

Immersive View in Portland, Oregon!

Just checked and I have immersive view here in Portland Oregon! Not talking about the rised buildings. The trees that are on the sides of the road are being shown in 3D on the map.

Is there a way to check out entire city/town in Google Maps except faster?

I want to explore some New Jersey/Croatian/New Zeland city on Google Maps. Clicking those arrows takes up sooo much time. So. Much. Is there a way to do it much much faster? Like a speedrun?

On Google Maps, business location details “located within” is incorrect.

The business has changed locations, and the new address was updated on Google Maps. However, there is a section on Google Maps that says it is “located in” the old building. Clients keep returning to the wrong building. I’ve submitted MULTIPLE edit suggestions from multiple other accounts to change this and there has been no update for months.

Custom list orders are BROKEN, any fix?

I'm trying to save a list for places i want to visit in my next vacation, and I'm trying to organize them by areas and locations in a custom order. However, Maps is constantly scrambling my custom list order. i deleted the app cache, deleted the list and created a new one, yet the issue still persists.

Is there any way to fix it?

EDIT: I think i figured out why it scrambles. Every time i finish editing the order it pushes the unedited items up the list, and puts the modified ones at the bottom. So a workaround would be to manually make sure each location was modified during an edit. Tedious, but it works

Car Play Google Maps Weather Glitch

For the past month, there has been this warning for thunderstorms popping up on Car Play for Google maps not anywhere nearby where you are or the destination. Seems to be some glitch with a recent update. It pops up every 10 minutes or so, even when you click ignore.

All my timeline history is gone before 2025

I’ve been tracking myself on there since 2023. And beside that from 2016-2019 ish. That’s all gone ever since they did the thing where you couldn’t update it on a PC. What happened?
