My close friend and former coworker referred me for a job that’s a perfect match. I have experience in the industry, I know the tools, I’ve been doing the same job for 5 years. The recruiter reached out to me, and I’m waiting to hear back after the screening round.
They let me know today that I’m up against a contractor. The contractor (John) is currently in a similar role (same title) but under a different team and doesn’t report to the hiring manager. From what I know John has the same total years of experience as me, less industry-specific experience.
Do you guys think I should still expect good news? Or am I cooked?
