Making some airborne dust filters to capture wood and MDF dust. Cutout on the side is for the filter to slide in and out of. I realize it probably makes a miniscule difference, but I'm wondering if anyone knows whether it would be better to place the filter closer or further from the actual fan itself (seen in second photo). The filters are the exact same size as the inner square frame of the fan btw, so sizing is not an issue here.
