There's starting to be a lot of clutter in the vest/belt accessory department. 18 TMAR variants, 6 FLEX mag variants, and their names don't particularly stick out when the word TMAR is stacked over a dozen times on top of itself. This'll only get worse the more stuff is added.
We've already been shown the intent of high modularity through the 5.56/7.62/MBITR pouch. This ONE pouch has hundreds of customization combinations, and they're all within the scope of reality.
The FLEX mags (HSGI TACO) can do this, too. Out of the box, this pouch can fit standard AR, AK, AND 7.62x51 magazines, steel, aluminum or polymer without modification. It's just bungee cord, which is the same reason why the 5.56/7.62/MBITR can fit pretty much everything in the world. This redux alone would halve the current pool of FLEX mags.
What I'm now going to suggest abandons a bit of realism for the sake of QoL, since the TMAR molds can't accept what they're wildly not designed for, nor can the pouch accept molds it wasn't stitched for. While you "can" modify a standard HSGI TACO into a double-decker, you'd pretty much need to already own and cannibalize a double-decker anyway.
Trying to find the right TMAR length and cut, placing it, choosing a magazine, and then deciding I don't like it and scrolling all the way back down to hunt a new option is bad. The ideas behind the 5.56/7.62/MBITR can be expanded to stuff like TMAR and FLEX, where there'd be less base options, but you can choose specifics through stuff like Ammunition feeding device(s)/Storage configuration nodes. It would be a lot easier to be able to buy a base TMAR pouch, choose the length or webbing through storage config, and change the magazine through ammunition feeding device(s), and then the pouch size changes accordingly. This can also go over to the FLEX pouches, where you choose single/double/pistol decks at storage config. The most extreme version of this brings it down to 2 "parent" magazine options giving you the same customization as 24 individual pouches. The models are already there, just not whatever pain in the ass comes with reduxing.
