Hey everyone — I built GymBoard (https://gymboard.app), a digital signage platform specifically for training academies, BJJ gyms, martial arts schools, CrossFit boxes, etc. I've been lurking here a while and wanted to share it and get honest input from people who'd actually use it.
I built GymBoard because, like many training academies, we had TVs up on the walls and they were almost never being used. Instead, parents and participants were grabbing paper copies of the schedules and standing in front of a white board with written announcements on it.
What it does:
You pair any TV (Smart TV, Fire Stick, Chromecast, whatever) to your gym, and it displays:
- Live class schedule with a "Currently on Mats" countdown timer so members always know what's happening and what's next
- Announcement carousel — text slides, uploaded flyers/images, or embedded YouTube videos (with audio control per TV)
- Member recognition — shout out belt promotions, competition results, milestones, birthdays, and member spotlights. These rotate automatically between announcements
- Event flyers** for seminars, open mats, tournaments, etc.
Everything updates in real time. Change something in the admin dashboard and it's on screen immediately — no USB drives, no walking over to the TV.
Customization:
- Dark, light, or fully custom color themes per location
- Upload your gym logo
- Portrait or landscape orientation
- Fade, slide, or zoom transitions
- Per-class color coding
- Customize the "Currently on Mats" label to whatever fits your gym
Multi-location support:
If you have more than one location, you manage everything from a single dashboard. Each location gets its own schedule, announcements, displays, and branding. Invite staff with role-based access (owners and editors).
Pairing is dead simple:
The TV shows a 6-digit code. You type it into the admin console. Done. No technical setup, no HDMI laptops, no special hardware.
