Self-Love Box
A while ago, I started creating self-affirming jewelry... Small objects precious to me because they were a way of reconnecting with and celebrating the parts of myself that I had shut down long ago in the name of fitting in and survival. But eventually, I gave up almost everything I was.. Trading bits of myself like currency; trying to buy love and acceptance from those who didn't even hear or see me, let alone love me. ... These creations are me taking them back. This box is sort of a culmination of that, and inside is the realm of breaking away from my tiny world of isolation, and stepping into the possibility of more. More than the loneliness, the silence, and the powerlessness I have been immersed in.. And those portraits are my long lost and abandoned parts. "Welcome home"..
