Buyer is BIG MAD a bag arrived the color is was listed as
For context, screenshots are included.
I listed an item as “tan” and buyer was upset it arrived tan in color. The “tan” was simply the color or the item… not staining. The bag is vintage from 1950… so nearly 80 years old.
I otherwise have a 5 star rating, 68 reviews, and over 200 sales.
Buyer blocked me before I could leave them a review. They had no feedback as a buyer or seller when I could view their profile. Depop support was -eventually- helpful.
I recently added a disclaimer re: how screen/display settings may affect the color of the images. I do not use filters or adjust the images. I take photos in natural light in a well lit area.
My display settings are set to slightly warm. My camera settings are standard.
I’ve had this happen one other time when a buyer thought an item was dark navy but it was actually black (as described in the listing) but wasn’t upset.
Is there a way to help prevent this from happening or a way to adjust images to an “industry standard”?
I’m using an iPhone16
I do not feel bad for this buyer because I know I was and am honest and the listing was accurate, but dealing with people like this is exhausting and if I can try to prevent it, I will.
I truly love the Depop community, my buyers, and the sellers I’ve bought from and interacted with. I’ve purchased items with slight inconsistencies between the listing/photos and the product I received and just took the L with understanding that I’m buying a used item, likely from an average joe, online. I thought most ppl felt this way, but I guess not lol
