How the fuck do team comps actually work in AFK Journey? Game explains nothing

Hey everyone,

New-ish player here and the game is terrible at explaining team building. Zero in-game indicators for synergies, no recommended comps, nothing. Just throw 5 heroes together and hope?

With hundreds of heroes and only 5 slots, how do you actually build good teams? Am I missing something?

For context:

Beyond “one tank + DPS + healer” I don’t get it

How important are faction bonuses?

Need real examples of heroes that work well together and why (CC, buffs, etc.)

Who’s worth investing in early/mid game?

Any simple explanations, must-have heroes, or actual synergy guides would help a lot.

Wasteland is Absolute Slop Open World - Pure Padding, No Shortcuts, Just Endless Walking

Holy hell, can we talk about how bad the Wasteland open world is in Stellar Blade? This is straight up slop.

You can't take any meaningful shortcuts. No fast travel between close points half the time, no vehicles that actually help in the early/mid sections, no zip lines or traversal tools that feel good. You just have to walk. And walk. And walk some more. Every side quest, every collectible, every little marker forces you to slog across the same boring dunes and ruins over and over.

The devs were clearly trying to inflate playtime with this. "Look guys, it's an open world now!" Nah, this isn't it. It's not immersive exploration, it's artificial padding. The combat is crisp and the character is great, but forcing me to trudge through empty space just to pad the hours is lazy design. This feels like they saw other games doing big maps and half-assed it without the quality traversal to back it up.

Anyone else feeling this massive slog in the Wasteland? Or am I the only one who just wants to skip the walking simulator parts and get back to the actual game?

Hey r/summonerschool,

Long-time Dota 2 player here jumping back into League after a decent break. I play completely muted on both games (no voice, no chat) and I’ve been loving the ping wheel for communication (Alt + click or whatever the bind is – it’s been carrying me so far).

I’m looking for all the hidden QoL settings, keybinds, interface tweaks, and little features that veterans use but a returning player might not even know exist. Especially anything that feels natural coming from Dota 2’s style of play.

So far I’ve turned on Quick Cast and made the minimap bigger, but I’m sure I’m missing a ton of stuff that would make the game feel smoother, clearer, or less frustrating.

What are your must-have settings for:

  • Casting / Quick Cast options
  • HUD / Interface / Minimap
  • Camera / Movement
  • Pinging & Communication (muted friendly)
  • Accessibility options
  • Any other random QoL gems

Drop your recommendations below, especially if you also came from Dota or play muted. Appreciate any help – I just want to get comfortable again without dying to dumb stuff I could’ve avoided with better settings.

Thanks in advance! GLHF

Anyone down to add each other? Tired of opening Dota and seeing zero friends online. Let’s queue together so we can lose as a team instead of solo.
