Hey all,
My Pimax 5k Plus, owned for a little over 5 years, bit the dust today; corrupted firmware & what I believe is a faulty cable (Sourcing replacement is difficult). Figured due to it's age, it is better to purchase a replacement HMD, than for me to go through the pain of repairing it. The issues I've encountered with Pimax are not worth my time anymore, despite how much I enjoyed the hardware.
I have been using Knuckles controllers + 3 Vive 2.0 trackers and I don't feel that those need to be replaced unless controllers have come a long way since then.
Ideally, I'd go for a Steam Frame whenever that releases, but in the meantime, what's a good short-term replacement? $300-500 realistically. I don't mind if it is an older model (i.e. an Index headset itself), since I plan to upgrade whenever the Frame releases. I'm open to a Quest as long as syncing it with SteamVR tracking hardware is hassle-free.
Any help or advice is appreciated, thank you.
