This patch of garden outside our lounge turns into a wee jungle about every six months, and every six months I clear it back. I've just done a big session of weeding on the left side, right is what it looked like before.
I'd like to stop this cycle but not sure how. We tried some type of ground cover, but it was quickly riddled with weeds, grass, oxalis and so on, and really hard to maintain. I like minimalist aesthetics, perhaps a zen rock garden or something, but again am worried about weeds growing through.
Definitely want to keep the apple, nectarine, and just-planted lemonade but everything else can go. Any ideas/inspiration?
