Cabbage tree on the fritz?

Cabbage tree has a lot of decay around the base of the trunk.. the upper leaves etc still look ok but I’m worried it’s unsafe. Do I need to remove it?

Sanity checking some advice for a non-fruiting, borer infected mandarin tree

Looking to prune and get it back up. I'm up for the challenge but mindful of doing unnecessary damage.

Is in the Mitre10 Number 8 hard wearing lawn seed mix suitable for a roadside lawn?

It appears to have a mix of seed - and just needing a cost effective hardy lawn for roadside that has pesticide to stop the birds eating it.

If anyone was interested in a science based deep dive on when to harvest their legal hemp for peak CBD and CBG production, I wrote a new blog post on the topic.

Does anyone know what kind of orange this tree is?

The fruit are smaller than the oranges at the supermarket but still sweet. I’ve seen lots around the neighborhood but I can’t find the name of it online and I want to plant another

New to gardening – I need some help please

I moved into my new house three months ago, and it has a small garden. It measures about 2.5m × 2.5m. I know absolutely nothing about gardening – where should I start? As you can see from the photos, a lot of weeds have grown over the past three months. (The first photo was taken three months ago, and the second one was taken just now.) Should I just start by pulling up the weeds? Or would it be better to seek the help of a professional gardener? How much does a professional gardener usually charge?

Variegated Kawakawa?!

https://preview.redd.it/xgsjb7il7oah1.jpg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3b4bbcd5fa3ae30d5957ddb0acceaaf11e7475ec

I've been harvesting the kawakawa from my garden for years, and for the first time this week I came across a whole branch on one of the kawakawa trees and it was variegated!

Has anyone else come across variegation in kawakawa before? Have any photos to share? I think it's really beautiful and I'd love to see more.

The kawakawa spot in my garden was just a few bushes when I first moved here and it's now self-seeded into a whole grove, it's fantastic.

Roses budding.

It's definitely great to see the roses budding and good to see a frosted cobweb.

What should I do to make this look less patchy?

Hi all! I am living here for almost a year now and the grass on my tiny town house lawn still looks patchy. The curbside grass looks much more lush than my lawn. I am looking for suggestions to improve the overall look of this patch of grass that can do, having no experience in gardening.

Appreciate any suggestions!

Mower or line trimmer?

Mower or line trimmer for this 30 m² council lawn strip? Any recommendations? Would a Ryobi 18V line trimmer be powerful enough if it's kept trimmed regularly? I already have an Ego 56V multi-head, so I could buy the line trimmer attachment for around $300, or pick up a Ryobi 18V line trimmer for about half that. I also already have a Ryobi 18V 4Ah battery. This is the only grass I need to maintain, as I don't have any other lawn on my property. Which option would you recommend?

Help with newish lawn please

Hi, needing help with a new lawn we did ourselves but seem to have an issue with a type of couch grass (I hope that’s correct term). I’m not exactly sure what it is or how to get rid of it

It was a section so after our house was built I sprayed glyphosate all over it, left it for few weeks then used cultivator on it everywhere, raked as much as possible and got screened topsoil delivered and put all around before finally adding grass seed and watering a bunch. I used rye, fescue and browntop seed from Bunnings. This was around February/March this year

What’s the best approach to try work out the exactly type of couch grass and how do I best go about removing please? I’m afraid I’m quite new to this so doing my best with limited knowledge.

Thanks
