Currently I'm thinking Hebe's in the back and a mix of colourful and native flowers up the front. The aim will be to encourage native wildlife while keeping it low maintince and "tidy" as the owner (my flatmate) doesn't have much of a greenthumb

So are we letting reptiles run for bird of the year now?

The long tail bat snuck in and won in 2021, and while lizards don't have wings, they do lay eggs, basically birds 😆

Just moved in, what to do about this "situation"?

The outlets will need to be used. I will probably add flat extension cords to get to the sides of the bed.

What's the going rate for casual movers?

I'm moving to a new flat shortly, and want to offer my brother (a job hunting young adult) some money to help move its just 1 room's worth of stuff.

I was thinking $30/h + a $50 three story walk-up fee and lunch.

Looking for: Breaded Fried Oyster Mushrooms (takeaway) ideally near Silvia Park

Hi, I've got a work potluck coming up and often the vegetarians/people who don't eat certain meats are a bit neglected.

I had deep fried oyster mushrooms at a previous job at it was tastier than the chicken nibbles, anyone know of a place I can order some?

Soup/Stew Season, what are we cooking? + recipie

Beetroot and Lentil Soup/Stew

1-2 carrots and beetroots, peeled & chopped. Season, and oil and roast. I found the beets need a bit more time than the carrots.

Dice 1 onion and a few cloves of garlic and fry in butter or oil until soft and golden. Add tomato paste and spices (smoked paprika, chilli flakes, dried herbs, bay leaves, nutmeg, salt and pepper), fry off a little longer.

Add one can of whole peeled tomatoes, cook down some more and add stock and lentils (soaked dried or canned is fine adjust water as needed) once the lentils are cooked add the roasted vegetables.

Serve with your choice of toppings, parmesan was nice as was sour cream and fresh coriander.
