Two essential laning mechanics: how to avoid feeding magic stick charges from fog + using enemy wand

Hey guys, GymCarryDota here

I made a quick 1-minute breakdown on two mechanical tricks that can easily win you the mid lane or side lanes:

Casting spells from the Fog of War so the enemy gets 0 stick charges (great against Bristle, Batrider, or general spam).

Watching the enemy's stick charges when you cast from fog to instantly know if they have a high-ground or lane ward.

It's a small detail, but abusing this makes a massive difference in high-MMR laning control. Hope it helps your pub games!

P.S. I'm actively trying to build a positive, educational Dota community. If you found this helpful and want to learn more, hang out on streams, or just connect with other players trying to improve, you can find all my socials here:

How to Control Your Catapult Aggro for Free Dive + XP & Gold Deny

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/2m55JRfLoKE

Hi guys, GymCarryDota here (Coach, educational Content Creator and streamer). 8.5k current MMR / 9.5k peak.

Everyone knows how to aggro enemy creeps, but manipulating the aggro and movement of your own catapult is a hidden gem that even most Immortal players don't know about. This mechanic is unique because it catches the opponent completely off-guard.

We can use this in 2 main scenarios:

  1. To completely deny XP & Gold: If the enemy hero is out of the lane (jungling, rune, dead, ganking etc) you can force your catapult to suicide into the tower before the next wave arrives.

  2. To setup an unpredictable dive: By combining this with Fortification, you can force the tower to lock onto the catapult while you dive, creating a window the enemy simply isn't ready for.

Check out the video to see exactly how to do this.

Question for you guys: Can you think of any other creative ways to use this suicide mechanic besides these two scenarios?

How to Outplay Nullifier & Disperser Like a Pro

Hi guys, GymCarryDota here (Coach, educational Content Creator and streamer).

We've all been there: you buy a Ghost Scepter or playing Necro, Pugna, Lesh you pop ghost form to survive, and it gets instantly purged by a Nullifier. It's one of the most frustrating things in Dota 2, and many players think BKB is the only solution.

I’ve made a quick breakdown (short) on high-level mechanics and itemization that any hero can use to outplay these items. In this video, I cover:

  • Why BKB is sometimes a trap against these items.
  • Frame-perfect timings and hero interactions.
  • Items that can actually save you when Ghost Form fails.

Hope this helps you in your next pub!

Hey guys, GymCarryDota here.

If you play Oracle, silences are your worst enemy. But if you time Fortune's End (Q) right, it's actually your strongest defense.

By pre-casting Q on yourself right before a silence hits, the silence interrupts your channel and triggers an instant self-dispel. You effectively become unsilenceable, allowing you to instantly get your False Promise off.

I made a quick 40s demo showing this timing and how it strips multiple enemy buffs simultaneously.
