I’m currently on Mounjaro 5mgs and I’ve now only got 10 kilos until I’m at my goal weight. I’ve been on it since mid January of this year and it has been fantastic. I live in France and so I’m self funding the Mounjaro as my health insurance doesn’t cover it. I’m not Type 2 diabetes either, but oh my goodness it has been life changing for me. I saw my GP today and he was over the moon for me at how well I am. I’m also 6 weeks post a left replacement knee op and also doing great with that. But I too am concerned about coming off Mounjaro when I’m at my goal. My daughter is on it too and has similar weight loss and concerns. I’m assisting her to fund her treatment as well as my own but I’m very lucky to have a decent retirement income so I can afford both, but I don’t want to stay on it for life. So has anyone any alternatives that are safe and longer term. I just want to maintain and not lose weight, but equally I don’t want to fall back and gain either. I’m easily able to understand a calorie controlled diet as I’m a retired nurse so I am happy to do that, but I’m terrified of going back to food noise and unhealthy late night snacking and sugar cravings. So please any suggestions will be most welcome.
