Wrong tooth extraction
I’m wondering if anybody can give me some advice if they’ve ever gone through this seeking legal advice
I got braces four months ago. The plan from orthodontist was to extract three adult teeth one on the top left one on the top right and one on the bottom in the front row. My current Dentist of the last four years does not remove teeth. He referred me to another Dentist in the area. I went in August 12, 2026. They ended up only removing the top left tooth forgot about the top right and removed a healthy tooth instead of the unhealthy tooth in my front row next to it. Prior to this appointment, my orthodontist sent over paperwork stating exactly which teeth needed to be removed and why. I only noticed that it was the wrong tooth once I got into my car and I looked into the mirror. I started crying and called the orthodontist. I had an appointment the next day. My orthodontist said an all 23 years of him in the practice, he has never seen this happen.
My orthodontist cannot use the unhealthy tooth and it does have to be extracted I am now looking at putting an input there in the future is unknown for my smile. I am a 24-year-old woman, and this affects my overall appearance this has taken a toll on my mental health.
I also want to add in the Dentist herself sent paperwork to my orthodontist stating that she removed the correct teeth
I don’t want to badmouth the Dentist. I simply just need opinions and advice.
