Bedard Injury Impact

how does bedard’s injury affect his contract negotiations? I say this will transition to a bridge deal instead of long term. I’ll be honest and say I do not trust bedard‘s injury resilience.

considering KD essentially accelerated the rebuild to appease bedard by overpaying for Byram (plus that extension….yikes), it does feel like bedard still holds all the cards…

any chances at offer sheets now?

Where Does Robo End Up?

Is he holding to see if Dallas can pay him, or is he waiting for the right team?

If it’s the latter, who is the best fit for Robo?

Can Someone Please Explain the Byram Trade?

I've had a few days to sit on this and it doesn't get any better the longer I think about it.

It's the overpay of the last 25 years for a player who doesn't have 1D potential and frankly is close to his ceiling. His extension, should Chicago work one out, is going to be horrible and never be worth it. Worst of all, Davidson believes that the young D core can learn from Byram...

Sorry, but Byram is younger than ALEX VLASIC. I just don't see this fit, especially in a team as bad as Chicago. This doesn't get them closer to the playoffs, it just feels like lipstick on a pig.

Bedard loves Byram Trade... Sorry, but who cares, this is simply a poor trade

Connor Bedard's opinion on this trade should mean less than nothing frankly. At the end of the day, Connor, you are a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, not the Chicago Bedards.

This was a poor trade top to bottom. Byram at best is a 2-3 dman, but not even close to a 1D. Mix in his terrible analytics and his inability to, you know, PLAY DEFENSE, and this just hurts no matter how you look at it. Frank Servalli, who is thee biggest Hawks homer ever, bet a mortgage payment he'd get 60 points this season. Does Frank realize what team he is now playing in? Blashill would rather throw himself on a sword than give dmen the green light. As for the PP, its the Hawks, it'll take way more than Byram to fix that...

This kind of overpay should have been directed at any of Robertson, Knies, or even WERENSKI! KD made a desperation move and now you are stuck giving Byram a 12-mil AAV contract because he wants to wait for Makar and Hughes to set the market. Gimme a break, I'm still sick to my stomach two days on.

EDIT: At the end of the day, this is all for not anyway. Hawks aren't winning anything in Bedard era based on how this team is being constructed. Don't anyone forget how bad the Hawks are at growing young talent, so unless they're going to overpay using their prospects for established players, they're just gonna be another Yzerplan Red Wings.
