For couple of years this has been bugging me a lot. I’m sorry if I’m incorrect about plot, I was a kid back then when I saw this movie. (Sorry for grammatical mistakes)
Somewhere back in 2016-2018 I saw a horror movie about a family of three moving into a new house. A father, daughter and son, seeking for a new life after mother’s death. They also had a pet cat. The dad might’ve been a cop in the movie.
After moving into the house, strange things start to happen, while also the daughter starts to behave weirdly. The daughter is older than her brother (probably in early teens and the brother was probably starting first grade). One day, as the dad does some lawn work, he finds the family’s cat’s remains buried deep underground. I think the father suspected it was a wild animal that attacked it.
One night the dad is working late and needs a babysitter, so he calls an old lady to come watch the kids while he’s away. The old lady might’ve been the grandma of these two kids. There’s a scene, where this old lady goes outside to smoke a cig after putting the kids into bed, but it cuts to the son seeing something creeping behind his room’s door, moving towards the old lady who was smoking on the porch.
Few days later the dad asks some ”construction” workers to dig a deeper hole into their yard with a excavator, but the machine digs up the remains of the old lady. The police open an investigation what happened to her.
Eventually the father finds weird drawings behind the posters of his daughter’s walls, trees and weird creatures. She might’ve also drawn the dead cat and the old lady, if I remember correctly.
The dad can’t seem to find his daughter, but eventually ends up finding her in a weird underground tunnels, which is also the nest of the ”bad creatures” in this movie. The daughter was unconscious, so he picks her up, brings her back to the house and grabs the son and escapes the place. I also have a faint memory of the nest being lit up with fire.
This is all I can pretty much remember, and I’m quite sure the movie was made somewhere 2005-2015. Weirdly enough I only know one person who has seen this movie, but also doesn’t remember the name etc. I would also like to note that I saw this movie on tv, probably aired on the fox channel. I appreciate it if anyone is interested enough to look into this! :)
