Question about Chaos DOT snapshotting mechanic, blight of contagion/ED/Contagion
Hey , Came across captain lance blight of contagion build which utilizes arcane surge buff and I have some questions i cant find concrete answers for online:
- Does the chaos DOT debuff gets the damage if I gain the arcane surge after it already got applied to the enemy?
- Does contagion recalculate the debuff damage when it spreads?
- Can I spread more than one debuff with contagion?(blight of contagion+ ED for example)
scenarios for example:
scenario one : If I apply contagion to the enemy and channel two layers of blight debuff on it and it dies without arcane surge on me, I only gained surge afterwards, will the contagion spread the debuffs with arcange surge damage buff on them?
scenario two: What if I gain arcane surge while something like ED is mid flight/ and what if i gain it after it already hit the enemy? and what will contagion spread?
scenario three : I applied 2 debuff of blight without surge, then applied 2 with surge, how will contagion behave with this when it spreads? will the stronger debuff overwrite the weaker one eventually after contagion spreads enough times or will it stick to the first 6 debuffs that were applied?(meaning these 2 weaker debuffs will forever be on each mob in the spread).
basically trying to understand if I need to gain the arcange surge before i pop an expedition/legion, and wanna measure how consistent arcane surge buff is for the actual damage doing these mechanics and for general knowledge.
