Access declined at LHR even after pre-booking

So I was enroute to the US via London where I had a stopover.
My banking relationship allows me complimentary access to PP lounges twice a year without meeting any spending threshold. I had confirmed this with my bank before my travel and also confirmed with the PP support that my membership is valid.
On the D-day, i went to the pre-booked Club Aspire Lounge at LHR T5 with the booking confirmation (cost GBP 6.00). When the lady at the counter swiped my card, the machine said “access denied/card not valid.”
She couldn’t find my booking on the system as well though I had an email confirmation of the booking with a reference number as well. The good lady tried a few times before giving up.
I have emailed and followed up with the PP support a couple of times but got zero response till now.

Anyone else faced this or may suggest what the issue could be?
Would love to know how can I escalate this.
