Suddenly spotting/ bleeding for a month+
Hello! I got my iud almost 4 years ago exactly. Last fall I suddenly started spotting for 4+ weeks at a time. Prior to my iud my periods were always 5 days max and about 2 months after getting my iud I stopped getting periods all together. I contacted my doctor, had an ultrasound done and was told that nothing seems wrong with the iud. My doctor suggested I take a pill form of hormonal birth control to regulate the bleeding which I didn’t want to do. Eventually the bleeding stopped for a few months but now it is back and I’m on week 4 of ruining all my underwear -_-
I asked at that time if this could be a result of the hormonal level decreasing, and if so could I just have it replaced. They said no, and no.
I’m so fed up. Has anyone had this experience? I’d appreciate hearing what anyone else has found out in regard to bleeding for a full month if not longer. Thanks in advance.
