Okay it’s starting to get a bit bigoted.

I understand alot of people might be upset about the wattpad thing, fair whatever.

But using terms like immigrant and migrant in negative terms is starting to come off a bit on the bigoted side especially given today’s political climate.

Like I understand that wattpad users maybe acting a bit childish and annoying but they are real people and we’re being gross about real people over fiction.

If you are the same person who preaches “fandom etiquette” or “fiction doesn’t effect reality” and you find yourself channeling an inner maga and calling people “stupid migrants” (yes ive seen this a couple times already) please step back and maybe go feel the grass between your toes. There are better ways to criticize someone or something without getting crazy.

Worst first facility ever.

Okay. So to start this off I started my journey as an LNA a couple months back and I’m former armed forces, the place i work at is a retirement home they offered me a full time position and i immediately said yes (bad idea.)

After working for a couple months I’ve had to deal with racist and weird residents (I have one that literally screams if i don’t put cream deep in his ass and when I do he makes weird noises. Yes I reported it yes I won’t be working with him.)

The other LNAs are hit or miss some are very kind while alot of them complain when i ask for assistance with a hoyer or 2 person boost, or ask me to do things like float then complain when I don’t get 6 people done in under 10 seconds

The nurses. Some of them are genuinely insane. I always report anything unusual, new, or suspicious it’s something ingrained in me since to military, but it seems like whenever I report something it falls on deaf ears, especially serious things like i see family screaming at their loved ones or being aggressive and I report it and I am told “oh thats just their family thats the way it is”

I am also constantly degraded or treated differently from long term lnas like being berated for taking a smoke break or getting water or (and this is my final straw) a male nurse had asked me to come answer call light on his side but today its one,one and a float and I told him I can’t just leave my side (this is after a resident has just been rushed to the hospital btw.) he proceeded to scream at me and told me he didn’t care even tho he had two on his side because of the float. I didn’t say anything back and bit my cheek for the sake of my job but I have had it.

I do not like the “shit on the new guy” bs especially for a facility DESPERATE for people.

I have been struggling to adjust to civilian life. I can say for certain I like being in the medical field because Ive always loved helping people. I wont let this experience deter me from my journey but i think its best I find another job, Im not even happy to come in anymore and I get anxious thinking about going to work, I go to therapy and have been finding coping mechanisms to help unlearn certain behaviors that don’t slide in civilian life but i swear this job is undoing my process. I barely have time because I work long hours and even after they beg me to do over time I come and get treated like shit.

Caitlyn was right

Bit if a click bait title apologies but I just can’t stop thinking about her wasted potential. I rewatched arcane and re read Caitlyns old short story as well as child of zaun, when Caitlyn talks about the cycle of oppression she’s 100% right continuing with the cycle of violence the same pain inflicted on you you inflict onto others only creates new victims and keeps the cycle turning. Thats not to say those who are oppressed shouldn’t lash out or express pain, but its the severity to which that group goes or the justifications made that should be put into question.

Ive never really been able to put into words why I liked Caitlyn even before arcane I could only really describe it as she was mature and knew when to back off but honestly season one Caitlyn of arcane made that more clear and tbh I understand why she’s so hated now; Caitlyn makes you face an uncomfortable reality that even with the shitty things you may face their is no justification unruly violence.

Caitlyn is pushed through the ringer when it comes to violence from jinx and when she fights back its just as vicious if not more violent then what she’s faced and that perfectly describes the cycle of violence.

(Off topic ive always been critical of arcane and this mostly comes from the fact im an old lore fan and was a bit bitter to change but holy shit this show is actually a masterpiece like after watching it for the 20th time there’s so much to reflect on and realise.)

Caitlyns arcane lore slowly becoming her league counterpart makes more sense now if we are to stick with the allegory of the cycle slowly maturing and understanding the power of violence.

Why I say Caitlyn is wasted potential is for the fact this should be her character even with everything i listed everything is still so vague.

Idk maybe we should have a season 6 whos with me??

Edit: ALSO to elaborate on this I don’t want people to think i think Caitlyn’s evil or anything on the contrary I think Caitlyn is far from it, she’s a beautifully written character that forces you to confront the uncomfortable truths. And I think that’s better than being a hero or a villain, a question that makes you think for an answer.

Rant about piltover

Piltover is one of my favorite regions, It’s been the region I enjoyed the most pre arcane and I’ve spent years eating whatever little scraps riot decided to generously throw at the bars of my enclosure every blue moon.

It’s also no secret I’m not a big fan of arcane especially now that it’s new canon and it absolutely fucked over the lore and PNZ itself. One of those biggest fuck ups is its potrayal of piltover.

See arcane promotes itself as telling a story about two feuding twin cities that were once one with similar cultures and fractured due to conflict. That in itself isn’t a bad premise, however the execution was abysmal and came off more black and white and the common “evil city good city” with a mediocre twist. We literally only see the conflict from zauns pov, and the council pov. The show is supposed to be about both cities but it becomes clear it only favors one side and doesn’t really try to promote the other since we rarely see anything in regards to the regulars in Piltover. This kind of strolls into my first point.

The absence of the promenade district ruins the narrative of arcane.

Pre arcane the promenade district was pretty much the driving force proving zaun and piltover can coexist with each other. it was home to piltovers working class and traders from zaun. Arcane wanted to make the conflict between piltover and zaun grey where you understand the perspective of both sides but at no point gives you anything to sympathize or relate to when it comes to piltover.

I think the promenade district and piltovers working class is especially important when challenging the principles of Piltover’s council and societal structure, it’s alluded to in stories like progress day and in the story of professor von yip, that those who aren’t in piltovers high society have a heavy burden to bare when trying to uphold the weight of progress, we see that those who fail to innovate are stuck at the bottom with no second chances, we see the mental toll of failure Piltover has with it’s denizens seeing jayce almost end game in arcane. an elaboration or seeing the struggles of lower class piltovans fighting for a moment in the light would have been something many could relate to.

Another point is the council itself. Piltover isnt a democracy it’s run by a merchant oligarchy and generational wealth. I personally think being a laborer in piltover would be genuinely worse than a laborer in zaun, seeing how complacent and uncaring the council is there would probably be less regulation in Piltover’s factories more hours even less pay.

Another interesting point would be the enforcer violence itself. the lower districts and the promenade are slap dab in the middle of conflict and given many also have family in zaun its easy to suspect that a mixture of police brutality and gang warfare would sky rocket in the promenade and potentially sour the relationship between the lower classes of zaun and piltover which could easily be used by the elites in piltover and the chembarons to keep their control over their cities and it’s people.

In Conclusion, arcane missed the mark with both cities and the old lore while not much gave more depth to the region. Something I have always admired about every region is that they’re not perfect, and perfectly mirror real countries in terms to the convoluted and complex histories they have. I think no region will properly be given justice if portrayed like how arcane did.

(I contemplated posting this because alot of people speculate I’m an arcane only but I’ve been consistent with league lore since 2013. I don’t like arcane but I do acknowledge it is a beautiful piece of art. I also really like giving commentary and speaking about old PNZ lore because before arcane it wasn’t really popular and no one really cared for the lore, now its super popular and old lore is mischaracterized heavily and its a bit frustrating because lets say this happened to like noxus or ionia their would be people up in arms.)

I don’t think Camille should get a rewrite

Her lore is already pretty good I think some things could be elaborated on but she works well as someone who symbolizes Piltover’s unique strength as a city. Camille represents the “big brother” archetype well and I think it would be better to see how she keeps Piltover’s status quo rather than just completely rewriting it to fit the new lore.

I think she’s the perfect “villian” everyone claims Caitlyn is
(on a side note still completely crazy how lore fans switched up on Caitlyn’s lore despite already knowing her established lore and what her core character is. I don’t feel bad the rest of the lore is feeling the domino effect. I’m just being petty lol)

I think this goes for pretty much every PNZ champ and champions in general if their lore isn’t abysmal they really don’t need a lore rework but rather just going deeper into their character or the archetypes.

“Hot take” I would also say this about Vi as well, Vi could have been a pretty cool commentary on those affected by oppression who still hold the status quo by becoming apart of it. (And seeing how apparently arcane is based off American politics it would also have been stellar commentary on the American lower class)

I’ll close this out by saying I’m kind of tired of characters who are already established as good or bad being hit with the “morally grey” narrative, keep them evil. They can have a sad crybaby backstory without having that need to have a glimmer of hope they’ll be good, especially with champions that are supposed to be “good guys” it completely ruins their purpose if their “morally grey”

Demacia hot take

Fair warning if you’re pro mage you’re probably not going to like what I say which is fine! Just my opinion after all.

I wanna start this off by saying I don’t think demacias oppression of mages is okay or correct by any means but I think that their fear (especially since their entire society was founded after being hunted down by mages in the first place.) is legit. We’re talking about people who have the ability to control fire, flood entire cities, and summon other worldly creatures. In fact it isn’t even just demacia, in arcane one of the councilors mentioned how piltover was founded as a safe haven from war mongering mages and I’m guessing that despite these two being major regions I’m sure they aren’t the only ones, hell noxus is still living proof that mages can and still do use their powers for worse especially given the war in ionia. I think alot of people forget this fear of mages didn’t come out of thin air, that mages at one point did cause harm to a good amount of runeterra and scarred generations of people.

I know there’s going to be that one person so I’ll get this out of the way now; yes someone being born a mage doesn’t by default mean they are evil, however I want to point out that corruption is not that hard to fall into, especially if you physically have the ability to walk over or rule over others. I personally believe that if it wasn’t for patricide sylas and the other mages would have easily taken over demacia. Mages do have an advantage and I would argue that a corrupt or power hungry mage is more dangerous than a non magical human.

Now I do want to end this by saying demacias actions don’t help this case ethier giving mages a reason to want to kill people by committing crimes against them gives them a reason/ scape goat to justify using their powers against others.

Feeling discouraged in this career.

I passed my class about a month ago and still haven’t received my license which has caused major problems in my personal life, I put my two weeks into my other jobs because I was told I was to start about 3 weeks ago (I was FIRST told it would take TWO DAYS) and now I face eviction because I haven’t been able to work.

I went to the licensing center in my state to see what was going on (I was THEN told the wait period was 11-14 days) and they’re telling me i gotta wait another 30 DAYS and ngl I picked up another hospice job to try and recoup my losses, I haven’t even started and I’m already feeling discouraged.

Idk for an industry that says it NEEDS people I really didn’t expect this.
