2026 Venus Retrograde Chart

October 2026 Venus Cazimi (VSP)

This chart features two T-squares. The first is an angular, fixed, T-square with a 1st house Mars opposing a 7th house Pluto, tightly squaring Venus and Mercury in the 4th house. Here, Venus is fallen in Scorpio and rules the 3rd and 10th house by domicile, and the 8th house by exaltation. The second T-square is cardinal and it is made up of the chart ruler, a fallen 3rd house Sun, opposite a fallen 9th house Saturn and square a 12th house Cancer Moon. Although the Moon has sign dignity, and the Sun and Saturn have mutual reception by exaltation; T-squares are notoriously challenging aspects.

The beauty of this chart is found in the mutual application, by trine, of the apex planets in each T-square, Moon and Venus. This indicates that isolation can bring clarity to your commitments or provide ancestral support and guidance for relational changes. It may also suggest a need to mend some sort of fracture or debt in your lineage. Regardless of the specific situation, the saying "what is done in the dark will come to the light" applies here. In this context, as they should in every other, 'dark' and 'light' are neutral terms representing private vs. public. Given the interconnectedness of this chart, it's wise to anticipate that activities conducted behind the scenes could come to the spotlight.

Set for Washington, D.C, with Venus placed in the 4th house, we can expect there to be a review of the values, customs, and alliances that govern the nation. Retrogrades are periods of reflection. Cazimis are a time of renewal. During a Venus retrograde, the Sun and Venus conjoin, also known as the Venus cazimi or the Venus Star Point (VSP). This conjunction can signify a change of heart. Reminiscing is a normal Venus retrograde experience, but it is especially important to take note of the thoughts and emotions that come up for this one.

At any given time, there are only 5 active VSP cycles. During the active period of a specific Venus cazimi or Venus Star Point cycle, the retrograde cycle occurs every 8 years. The Venus Star Point will cycle through a sign for approximately 100 years before it fades out and reemerges after another ~150 years. Coincidentally, this year happens to be the United States 250th anniversary, USA's Venus Star Point return, and the last Scorpio Venus Cazimi we will experience in our lifetime. The big event occurs on October 23rd, 2026.

Be aware that a debilitated Venus, in this case fallen and retrograde, can manifest in ways that deviate from the standard expectations of Venus. This can show up as women rebelling against social norms, striving for liberation, and breaking barriers. Alternatively, it can involve the disenfranchisement and marginalization of women. With October being Domestic Violence Awareness month in the United States and the United Kingdom, the retrograde could bring attention to marginalized Venus types: sex workers, survivors of any kind, trans women, disabled women, femicide victims, and victims of intimate partner violence (IPV).

1775 and 2026 Scorpio Venus Star Point Charts

Another notable event that occurred under the 1775 VSP alignment was the birth of Jane Austen. Austen had her prenatal VSP and natal Venus in the tempest Scorpio. Mayor Mamdani, a Libra Sun with Leo Rising, is particularly sensitive to Venus transits, especially Venus retrogrades, which often trigger significant shifts in identity, leadership, reputation, and relationships. Since the Sun traditionally governs intellect, Venus retrogrades can also affect insight and reasoning for Libra Suns. In Mamdani’s chart, Venus is especially important as the ruler of his 10th house (career and public image), 3rd house (communication and immediate environment), and exalted ruler of his 8th house (shared resources, investments, inheritance, and debt). Therefore, Venus retrograde cycles tend to bring notable changes across his career, public standing, communications, and financial matters.

This Venus retrograde takes place in his Scorpio 4th house of home. For Mamdani, New York City itself represents his “home,” so this transit is likely to influence the city as a whole. Manifestations may include a focus on supporting vulnerable groups such as survivors, sex workers, and disenfranchised women. It may also highlight issues like domestic disputes, city transportation challenges, contractual or legislative matters, trafficking, and scrutiny of his lineage, allegiances, and donor sources. Additionally, tensions could arise between the city’s outward image and underlying realities, alongside evolving aesthetics; there could be conflicts involving schools, students, business owners, travelers, and journalists.

This transit is particularly significant as the Venus cazimi at 0 degrees Scorpio squares Mamdani’s natal Mars and Saturn at 0 degrees Scorpio and Aquarius. It is this Mars-Saturn square that has empowered Mamdani to confront establishment forces, and it will be strongly emphasized during this time. As a fellow Mars-Saturn native, this aspect brings to mind my favorite vocal stim, “It’s corporate giants and machines that went against me,” by the incendiary Nicki Minaj, which encapsulates the weight of this dynamic. Expanding on the themes of challenges and significance, his Saturn aligns with the critical degree of the 2020 Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Aquarius, which marked a broader era of transition.

Astrologer Georgia Stathis, in her book Pushing Through Time, describes this conjunction as signaling “a time of new order or management, offering the potential to reorganize or restructure a tricky situation.” She also highlights its thematic core as “breaking the rules because of beliefs or being broken because of beliefs.” This will reflect in Mamdani’s Aquarius 7th house of one-on-one relationships for 20 years. Adding further intensity, Pluto is moving through this house and squaring his Scorpio Mercury and MC/IC axis, which brings transformative pressure and potential. These transits often involve forming powerful alliances and navigating influential forces. Pluto’s energy can be both alluring and intimidating, with others seeking to understand and influence Mamdani’s ambitions, and opportunities that arise will require careful negotiation. Regardless, with Scorpio placements characteristic cool composure, Mamdani’s true motives and emotional depths may remain hidden, giving him a strategic advantage.

Overall, this retrograde, placed in the context of the larger transits and cycles, suggests a profound period of transformation in both his personal and public life. As he evolves, we will witness how New York City changes alongside him.

Scorpio Venus Retrograde Tips

Avoid elective cosmetic surgery.
Avoid major financial decisions, especially those related to the houses Venus rules or is transiting. Example: Aquarius and Cancer risings with Venus ruled 4H may not want to sign a lease or purchase a home during a Venus retrograde because there is a chance they could regret it. If you’re moving, make sure that contract is signed prior to the start of the retrograde, preferably before Venus enters Scorpio.
Be cautious of trying out new beauty treatments or providers.
Be aware that toxic situations or people from the past can creep up.
Be mindful of your sexual health. If you’re sexually active, use protection! Scorpio rules over the reproductive organs. Educate yourself about your reproductive health. Prior to the start of the retrograde, find a good time to schedule an STD test.
Trust your gut. If something feels off, then do what you need to do to protect yourself. More than likely, you won’t regret being overly cautious.
If you trade or market, volatility is important to what you do; know that Venus retrogrades are known for it. Research and make informed financial decisions at your own risk.
For beauty business owners, I would recommend that you offer a discount code to loyal customers to incentivize them to come see you during the retrograde. Sometimes beauty businesses and things that pertain to women can slow down or be hindered during this time; this could help alleviate some of that.
Another tip for people in the beauty industry is to be cognizant of who is booking with you during this time. Consider that a client may be experiencing strife in their personal life that could cause them to act out of the ordinary or look for an outlet. Be mindful of who you allow in your space and who tags along with clients to appointments. Something that popped into my mind was stalking, robberies, people skipping out on their bills, and the destruction of property. As we progress further into the economic downturn, it is possible that people could be more extreme when it comes to these services and service providers. Obviously, this could go both ways.
If you have some kind of research, investigative-type job, or service, I would also encourage you to promote your services prior to when the retrograde begins, and if you can offer some type of incentive for people to come see you or at least book with you during the retrograde. Since research and investigation work is typically retroactive (retrograde key word), I don't necessarily think that the customers themselves need to be returning, but play around with it.
If you do some kind of work with resale, whether that is valuable goods or clothes, then I would encourage you to start tracking Venus retrograde transits to see how your business performs during this time.
If you do volunteer, community, and/or care work with marginalized women, then I would be prepared for this to be a time where more critical needs pop up. If you’re someone who usually supplies X service or Y product, try to stock up, if possible, and schedule more volunteers. Be prepared if your organization is normally targeted by threats, and maybe schedule a refresh on training or issue reminders to keep you and the communities you serve safe.

If you see something, then say something and intervene if you can do so safely.
If you are a romance or erotica author, consider promoting some of your older works or digging into your archive and workshopping some of your abandoned projects.
Order Halloween costumes and complete photoshoots prior to the beginning of the retrograde, or you might have complications with the purchase arriving, or not being up to par, and/or being dissatisfied with the photos and needing to reshoot. Luckily, if you don't heed this warning, know that a Scorpio Venus retrograde is a good time to reshoot, relaunch, re-release spooky, Halloween-y type things.
I’d be curious to know how tattoo removal procedures would go during this period. As it is removing (Scorpio), an aesthetic choice or design (Venus). Tattoos are said to be Mars remediation, and with Scorpio being ruled by Mars, I wonder how this business and procedure would fare in this astrological weather. It is a cosmetic procedure, but it’s being reversed, which seems to be in alignment with Venus retrograde.
If you’re a survivor of sexual assault and/or gender-based violence, be aware that the headlines and media during this time, especially with Mars-Venus-Pluto harsh aspects, can be triggering. If you can, try to mute words, limit exposure to haphazard media, and create a care plan in advance.
The best Scorpio Venus tip for emotional release is to create something, then destroy it. Maybe it’s a painting, pottery, diary entry, burn journals. Whatever the medium, the goal is to channel your grief and your inner artist to transform your emotions.
