Bought this Walkman a week ago. Also ordered a belt from DeckTech. Almost mint condition, just a few scratches but sounds great! It needs servicing though because of the "wavy" sound effect its giving when playing cassettes. Hopefully the belt replacement will help! Although its not a D6C, for what it is the reviews have been pretty positive!
Im looking to expand on my cassette collection. However ive been ulucky with buying lower quality cassettes off the internet. One being a bootleg version of 1984 by Van Halen. I know Discogs sells cassettes, but do they have a good reputation?
I’m looking into buying a cassette deck, and also a boombox. I need some opinions yet some tips! When looking into decks, I’ve looked into buying a Sony TC-134SD with the original box ($180), or maybe something from Pioneer. Saw a Pioneer CT-506 ($100). Both being pretty decent quality systems. Also visually and aesthetically pleasing decks. The smartest solution would be to stay in the same ecosystem and not mix different brands!
On the other half, I saw a Hitachi TRK W550E boombox ($100). In really good condition!!
I’m both collecting LP’s, cassettes and CD’s. So they all have their purpose. Cassettes are more of the fun hobby where i could actually say I’ve made a mixtape.
