If you want to be technical about things it's El Escriba I suppose or El Scribe-O if you're going for the marketing aspect but I think El Scribo is perfect. I personally love scribes and glass/metal etch because of the permanence or at least the theoretical idea of permanence, that if one puts up enough tags in enough places, by the time the Grim Reaper comes calling it's not unthinkable that some of them will run forever because not every business or town, city, municipality, county, whatever has the budget to replace entire windows/mirrors or panes of glass every month or remove and replace every street sign or metal surface that's been touched by chemicals then you get into the stuff like handheld battery operated Dremel tools and pretty soon the idea of your name being visible and spoken and thought about long after you've passed isn't an idea anymore it's a reality than nobody can ignore.

Sure most will just look at it and think "what an asshole thinking everyone wants to see his stupid name everywhere, just a vandal at the end of the day, I can't even read this shit" but the point is they saw it, I made it, I was here, I mattered, the love given and received, the tragedy and trauma, the good and the bad, this was a person, an individual who thought and spoke and lived like everyone else yet unlike us he has crossed the threshold we all know waits for us to step over one day whether we like it or not, an entire life of living condensed into a single tag repeated ad infinitum until they couldn't any longer but that's just my own ignorant opinion. Hope y'all are all doing well. I've been having a rough time the past couple months.

Y'all help me convince my girlfriend this nib still has some life in it and there's no sense in wasting money on a new one

Basically what the title says, she's always like this smh, underwear, socks, marker nibs, you use them until you absolutely can't anymore and THEN and ONLY then do you spend money on a new pair. /s

How it started vs How it ended up

Beat the fuck out of the Pentel shorty and once it was done played around with making some purple ink by mixing red+blue xylene homebrew together then once that was dry just filled it with straight blue and here we are. Love these things, absolute must have when I leave the house, just needs some tweaking before use and you're good to go and once the white is dry the possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

Vintage El Marko's from the early 80s.

I plan on having one of them converted into a custom "upcycled" scribe and the rest are for the collection. I'm still on the hunt for a blue, purple, red, and yellow if anyone knows of anything shoot me a message please.

TIL about 'KoreKorea' a term used for underage Kiribati girls who South Korean fisherman "paid for sex". At one point in 2003 all boats from South Korea were banned from going to ports in Kiribati.

Help with a question regarding name

So to make a long story short I'm having trouble deciding what name to use and nothing feels right except for one (I'll get to that part in a second). I started tagging using my nickname my significant other had given me a while back but spelled phonetically to shorten the amount of letters. So, I was born and raised in this little town in the middle of fucking nowhere Southeast USA, to this day you could mention it to people in the same county and they'd look at you like you had worms crawling out of your eyes. It's a pretty distinct name, a butchering of the name for a tribe of Native Americans that inhabited the area in the 1700s. It's the only thing that feels right, each time I write it solidifies that fact in my mind, this is it but here's the issue: I currently reside in a bougie college town where I live in a sober living house (1 year clean and sober, yay me) that actually has a pretty active graffiti scene mainly centered around the downtown business area but it's everywhere really. I thought of using the name so I did some research on the local graff scene to see if anyone had and surprisingly turns out there used to be a stencil writer here who used the name of my hometown plus (I'm assuming) their first name and a stencil of a pissed off looking gopher (i assume it could be any other furry small animal). From what I can gather they were "tolerated" and "well liked" around town until they did a piece on a business that wasn't too happy with the free artwork and the public turned against them and they tucked their tail and ran.

The stencil and accompanying name has continued to appear sporadically across the United States (I found a few on Instagram and Twitter) which leads me to believe the original artist was a college student who liked the way the name looked but probably (like all the bougie assholes who have since gentrified my hometown to the point I could never afford a home or even land to put a trailer on) couldn't pronounce the name to save their lives. It's a long name which I know isn't ideal and not quick to get up but I've thought long and hard and tried 1000 combinations of names in my sketchbook and this is the only one that fits me. Just because a person at one point in time tagged using this name and really only part of it in the name and from what I can gather doesn't tag at all anymore or at least not locally would anyone give me shit for using it? I feel I should also mention the original name and artwork have become so corporatized that several local breweries have beer cans featuring it so I don't know part of me is like these rich douchebags are making money off the name, someone I never met who likely wasn't even from the place wrote it, why can't I? If the consensus is I should pick something different then idk I'll run through 2000 more combinations and ideas until I think of another.

Recently I've started a little hobby of photographing the various tags, stickers, street art, etc I see around Orange County and thought I'd share this one. No, I did not vandalize the Chapel Hill Tire nor do I know (or care) who did so don't DM me and ask. Not sure what Polvoe's Pad means. I was on my way to Local 506 but I don't think that's the roof of 506. Maybe I'm wrong.
