A QUESTION FOR MELBOURNE BoC FANS!
I'm at a crossroads. As mentioned last month, I'm putting an unofficial Boards of Canada Listening Party on Saturday the 30th of May at Sunset near the city.
I know personally, it's extremely unlikely I can make it to one of the official listening parties as I have another engagement that night (Read: Backrooms) - but I know that those listening parties will be packed with awesome BoC fans in Brunswick, Ferntree Gully and Footscray.
I have an offer already from the local council for a specific area that would be perfect to play the album at sunset + the resources to do so, even if it's a bit expensive (a bit over $550). I'd ask for donations to cover the location, if we go ahead with it, as I'm currently underemployed - but I am curious if it's worth going ahead with - or if I'm being delusional.
So what do we think? Bite the bullet, book the area, fingers crossed on the weather and let's listen together in a field at sunset on a Saturday arvo - or the listening parties are enough for Melbourne fans?
