Slag boom van loon - poppy seed

I only realized today the sample from beautiful place in country is also used in poppy seed.

Although not a follower of David Koresh she is a devoted branch davidian.

This is probably not news for a lot of people but I was really surprised and unaware.

How rare is this BoC T-Shirt?

(Not my eBay listing)

I'm thinking of wearing mine to the early Glasgow Session, but was shocked to see the price of this!

Who else has one of these?

Boars of Canada

I made this T-shirt 2 years ago. I'm going to wear it at the Berlin listening session tomorrow. If you see it, say hello 👋

Does anyone know of other bands whose fan communities feel this unique? I love how passionate everyone here is — the way we geek out over specific songs, break them down in detail, and how completely subjective our opinions are. No two people ever seem to agree on their top 5 or 10.

Listening parties are a scam

The store in Mexico City updated today how it was going to be organized and they’re opening the listening party for 20 people only, that’s a fucking scam and I feel betrayed af. I did some research and as far as I know this is the only store where they’re reducing the audience to 20 goddam people.

Inferno culmination thoughts

I remember when "Tomorrow's Harvest" was released. First time hearing "Jacquard Causeway" I remember thinking... Is this really BOC?

And to end the album in such a dark and bleak way.

I think it was leaked early so I remember thinking it was a fake possibility, which is funny because there is a fake "Inferno" out there.

Idk who it is but it definitely sticks it's toe in BOC waters.

Or so I've the heard from a friend.

I saw a post about people waiting for the album before even hearing the singles. I kind of understand this.

I'm pretty excited for the real thing.

Sometimes I wait after something has already been released for the "right" or perfect time for me to listen to it.

Do you think this album will be darker than Tomorrow's Harvest?

What do you see in the cover?

Sorry if this is a repeated post, but I’ve been staring at the artcover of Introit/prophecy at 1420 MHz” and I’m curious if anyone else sees this stuff or if my brain is just doing pattern recognition overload.

Here’s what I keep noticing:

  • The kid almost looks like he’s deep in thought in a very “Thumb on Chin” kind of way
  • On his right cheek I keep seeing what looks like a sand timer
  • There’s something that looks like a ziplock with a red zip seal
  • On the right side I can make out what looks like a man/figure (could be a man with horn too) or it can be just a tree
  • The scratch mark on the left weirdly reminds me of either a pentagram or some spacecraft symbol
  • Top left is a jungle mirrored on a lake
  • ...

Am I completely imagining this stuff or do you think BOC intentionally design the artwork to trigger these kinds of interpretations? Curious if you see similar things or totally different imagery.

Inferno poster on proud display!

I printed out one of the Inferno promotional posters, and put it up in my room. I’m very proud of the result, and wanted to share!

If anyone wants the image, incase you’d like to print one out yourself, please let me know :3

FIRST IMPRESSIONS - Inferno Listening Sessions - May 22, 2026

On Friday, May 22nd, seven Inferno Listening Sessions will be hosted by Boards of Canada and Warp Records in the following cities; Berlin, London, Los Angeles, Glasgow, Tokyo, Barcelona, New York.

We ask that this subreddit please keep ALL reactions and first impressions from the event to this thread only.

Until the album is officially released on May 29th, all other posts containing first impressions of the album will be removed from the subreddit with the exception of photos and videos from the event, keeping in mind that only the first 5 minutes of the event is allowed to be recorded.

We are instituting this rule to help those who were not fortunate enough to get tickets to an early listening session avoid "spoilers" for the album by reading other people's opinions on it before they get a chance to listen themselves.

Revisiting their discography and interviews whilst waiting for Inferno

Thank god for boc pages where everything is neatly stacked and easy to find. Instead of listening to Prophecy at 1420 MHz on repeat, I figured I’d go through their back catalog while also reading all the interviews they’ve done.

It’s actually made me even more hyped and appreciative of their work. Getting back into their mindset, admiring the sheer attention to detail in the music, and picking up on interesting observations from their interviews really deepens the experience. It’s also kind of reassuring how normal they seem (and I mean that in a good way- especially because I recently had this fear of them turning out to be some pro-Trump, anti-vax conspiracy types).

Anyway, it’s a great excuse to revisit their discography. They’ve created such a rich world that really invites you to think more deeply and drift into thoughts about meaning of life, questioning if what we see is what is actually out there.

Is your name Sophie? Would you like to go to the Barcelona listening party on Friday?

Hi all, long time listener/first time caller...

Long story short, my partner Sophie and I were due to go to the Barcelona listening party and disaster has struck... Her passport has expired

So shes happy to give away her ticket (for the 7:00pm-9:30pm event) to another fan (I'm too nevous to contact Warp and end up with some nightmare situation where they release both tickets by mistake) - I guess drop me a DM or reply here!

We don't want anything for the ticket - also happy to give it away to someone who isn't called Sophie, but can offer no guarantees you'll get in!

*on a related note* if there is any pre-event or post-event meet ups I'd be keen to know about them!

Disappointing news for Boc fans in Ireland

Not one record store has signed up for a listening party.

I was in contact with the podcaster and regular listening party organiser Nialer Nine and he was hoping to hold one in the Big Romance Bar in Dublin, but Warp won't let them play the album until after midnight. This won't work for the bar, unfortunately

I've sent a message to Spindizzy Records, but they haven't gotten back to me as yet. At this stage I dont think its going to happen.

So lads, I guess its headphones and a bag of cans in Phoenix Park.

Here's a link to Nialer Nine's deep dive podcast on MHTRTC He's really sound and its worth a listen

Has anyone else held off from listening to the tracks from Inferno released so far?

I plan on going for a long walk in the fields behind our house on release day. The long player has always been a superior art form to the single, and this is why I need to listen to all the tracks in one sitting/walking.
