One of my favorite things about M83 is that every albums seems to have it’s own personality. Harsh, beautiful noises (Dead Cities), melodramatic instrumental sounds (DSVII), rocking hard-hitting guitars and synths (Saturdays=Youth) and my favorite: dreamy, astonishing rhythims (HUWD). But this album hits almost every mark, and does it beautifully

A near piano-carried album filled to the brim with sweeping pads and lovable melodies. Mixed in with the insanely captivating harsh sounds i love, as well as every song connecting like a real story. All i could think at the end was “holy shit, that was amazing”. I do think i need a few more listens (so far i’ve listened to it twice), but i think this could be my 2nd favorite album from them overall (nothing beats HUWD yet)

An opener is supposed to introduce listeners to the album, the hook that makes you excited for what's to come, and like closers, the openers mostly to a killer job at that.

I debated getting rid of Some Chords, but i decided that they are all (or most) equally good enough for all of them to get a fair shot. Also once again i’m seperating the While (1<2) discs. your options are:

Hey, it’s the guy who listened to the whole discography a week ago. Out of all the albums that I’ve listened to death, Mezmerize is the most explosive one. It’s become one of my favorite rock albums of all time in such a short time.

My favorite songs are undoubtably Cigaro and B.Y.O.B. Cigaro is an earworm of a song, with me just randomly thinking ”MY COCK IS MUCH BIGGER THAN YOURS!” every few minutes of my life (so embarassing), and B.Y.O.B is a masterpiece and everything about it is flawless. i also really like Violent Pornography, but, how the fuck am i supposed to tell my parents to play Violent Pornography durring car trips Dx.

Really though, there's not a single bad song. The weakest song is probably Old School Hollywood, but even that's still catchy in it's own regard. But yeah, i'm probably ruining my enjoyment listening to it over and over again. hell, as i'm typing this, Old School Hollywood is blaring in my earbuds. Whatever, at least Steal This Album and Toxicity are still there to keep me company lol.

Going into this band, the only song i've heard was Clint Eastwood. I was really intrugued by the comcept of a virtual band, and I wanted to hear for myself. And all i can say is that this band is catchy, random, loud, unique, but above all: fun. It reminds me of bands like System Of A Down (which i also listened for the 1st time a week prior to this). one moment it’s a song about serrious topics and the next is sone random ass lyric i never would've seen comming. Overall, gotta listen to the albums a few more times before I can say anything, but it sounds like i'm in for a ride with this band

Crome Fly - Double blades on each side is an actually effective idea, but the biggest issue for Crome Fly were thoes awful sticks for blades and the fact that one hit and it’s useless.

Bale Spear - A bot that can pierce into armor with a piston sounds great and effective. Too bad what we got was a half-functioning mess of a bot with Bale Spear.

Ageis - a bot as an entire flipper sounds like the ultimate counter for most bots. The problem was that the armor was litteral glass and the shape was so bad.

Ultimo Destructo - a bot with a versitile body that can have many weapons is great and makes it unpredictable. Unfortunatly, NONE of Ultimo's weapons even worked, and its body was so fragile that it split into a kit-kat in that one infamous fight

Battle Royale W/Cheese - Do i need to explain this one? even without a self-righting mechanisim, with a powerfull bar spinner, this would’ve been a beast to deal with. Too bad that this burger bot was undercooked. at least it was funny i guess.

BattleStar - Full ring spiner that can drive upside down sounds effective. if only that saw spinner actually spun and did damnage ratger than being just a sparkshow.

Ghost Raptor - A spining blade and a lifter sounds amazing and makes for a great idea. If only the blade didn’t break all the time and the body wasn’t so damn fragile.

Recently listened to the entire SOAD discography because why not? This band is so weird because half the time it’s be talking about war, oppression, drugs, and suicide, and then in the middle of nowhere it will be about sex, food, and penises (POGO POGO POGO POGO). I love it, and yet, i feel like i shouldn’t be listening to their stuff like any other band. but then again, their music is phenomenal, even the silly songs (MY COC IS MUCH BIGGER THAT YOURS). Is there something i should know? please and thank you.

Mascot horror is, from what i’ve gathered, very devisive. on one hand, it’s a easy and simple way to share a scary story while a good chance for brand recognition, and depending on the scenario and characters, can be fun and/or genuenly horrifying. On the other hand, as the trend grew, it seems that now, the biggest concern is to make a recognizable character, add some jumpscares and puzzles, and done. theres little story progression (hell, even story at all) and very little suspension, especially when big companies have tried trend chasing and overusing that formula so much it’s almost sad.

Buddy, on the other hand, has really intrigued me for the good reasons. When i first saw the trailer, i thought “oh great, another mascot horror that’s trying to hard”. But then i looked through it more… and this turned into a genuine interest.

First, the marketing. i think it goes without saying that when you leave a candy trail of videoes and seemingly innocent clips of a show, people are going to follow it. I think it’s genius when companies use stunts like these to promote the movie because it grabs attention and makes people want to explore more. Especially when it comes to finding small clues to piece together what this is leading up to.

Second, i just think Buddy’s design is perfect. When you look at other mascot horror characters (Like, litteraly every Poppy Playtime character), the design already makes you off-putting, which is no bad, just takes away the unexpected feel. Buddy genuenly looks like a happy fluffy unicorn guy and looks inviting and fun to hang with, that you almost never guess he would eventually go into a meltdown. The set design also looks like a fantasy world fit for elementary kids, and the side characters, like the backpack and the clock seem like genuine fun characters to be with.

What i especially love are the trailers. Horror movie trailers (and trailers in general) nowadays kinda spoil the suprises and plots, that you can watch them and guess the premise, the problem, and what you expect. the Buddy trailers are NOTHING like that. They show various clips off Buddy going into a sort of decent into insanity while kids are constantly scared. Theres another plot with a woman and a missing kid, but it doesn’t show the whole story and how it fits. each trailler leaves you guessing and makes you want to watch the movie and see what’s actually going to happen, like a good trailler should.

But my favorite part is just the premise itself. a Barney like character tries to show kids a good time, but one kid is resisting, so Buddy is going into a sort of rampage, and theres actuall danger towards the kids. theres another plot with a missing kid, and it connects with the tv show too, which is still a mystery. Overall, this is such an intriguing thing to see, even if it shares similarities to other projects like Don’t Hug Me, I’m Scared.

So, yeah, love this project and can’t wait to see this when i can, because i’m actually hooked into this, and as the matketing nears it’s end and the deadline gets closer, all will be shown soon, and i wanna see

Alright Buddy, you can put the axe down now…

It’s something i’ve seen complained anout the album, with people disliking the grittier sound and agressive production. A lot of a people also hate the messages and dark, political lyrics in the songs. And yes, for a time i was completly tooken back by the change of style from zero_one, but years later, i find this to be an absolute banger of an album.

Now first, the agressive aspects of the album go fucking hard when in the right mood, i especially i love how “Kill Us All” is almost a straight dubstep track. Speaking of which, Rust is a genre of it’s own, and i would love to hear more sounds similar to this album. this album has variety too, like, you cannot say every track sounds the same, with songs like “Malibu Pier”, “Orphans”, and “This Will Be Our Year”.

Second, while i kinda get how the messages of oppression, greed, and social heiarchy are very off brand for a band like TLT, but honestly, it’s not to bad, and they each tell a different story,and you can take most lyrics out of the context and it would still make sense (well.. maybe not “Kill Us All” or “Malibu Pier”).

Now of course, the biggest problem of this album is that all the songs are so underwhelmingly short, like, none of them reach 3 minutes, which does hurt my enjoyment a little bit, because i wanna hear more. but i’d say the time limits are justoified mostly.

Overall, yeah, i like Rust, Not a masterpiece and probably not as good as zero_one, but i still listen to it a lot.
