Do you think soad knows

So went to get tickets for the australian tour with faith no more as a supporting act and was disappointed to see the price, 400-650 (280-460 usd) To compare metallica with evanescence and suicidal tendencies 2nd most expensive ticket was 300 (200usd) at the same venue. I was wondering if its the same in america or are our ticket retailers ripping us off.

What's the first soad song that you have ever heard

Lore: i have a friend who listens to nu metal and he's principally a fan of korn, but once i met him casually out of the subway station of my block and we were with music, i asked him what he was listening to, he passed me a earphone and i heard the chorus of vicinity of obscenity (the song in the photo), then from that moment i heard all the song and i laughed for the lyrics, then from that day i started to listen a lot of soad songs and now i'm saving moneys for buying the vinyl of toxicity

A Post about the "Title Change" of Der Voghormia from one of the Mods of r/systemofadown

Many fans have recently posted on here, mainly in Confusion as to why System changed their Hidden Track "Arto" to "Der Voghormia" Here's the Reason.

Originally, The Hidden Track after Aerials Had no Official Name. Some Promo Material before the Release had it listed as "Arto" only as a placeholder name due to the Song's contributor, Arto Tunçboyacıyan, and the Title was adapted by fans. Until Streaming, the song had no Official title, and when It first came to streaming, they adapted the Placeholder Name, "Arto" The Truth about this song is that it was an adaptation of a traditional hymn, titled "Der Voghormia" or Lord Have Mercy.

I am not exactly sure why they decided to change it this last couple months, most likely because the Song has an official title and its only appropriate to Name it by its proper, Armenian Title.

In the end, I felt a statement had to be made as an Influx of posts have been flooding the Sub, that means unfortunately those duplicate posts will be deleted, I hope this will help those confused

I’m not crazy

This part of the song where the beat switches and Daron start singing is one of the best beat switches in any system of a down song, the flow is so good and the melody is amazing

I'm Looking for a poster

I remember seeing a SOAD poster. It featured a Turkish Pasha who resembled Enver Pasha (im not sure) , wearing a fez and a blue uniform, with a terrifying smile. Can you guys help me find it? I couldn't find it anywhere, but I really need to find it

Can I complain about the discord for a minute?

I've pretty much just been attacked on there for no real reason, or at least not one I didn't apologise for. The topic of Serj having said the n word in Shame came up and I said something along the lines of "I don't think it's right to say it but I do think there was perhaps a slightly different feeling towards saying that word in a song when it was released, and it's not like he directed it at anyone." Now, bear in mind I wasn't alive when it was released, but I certainly get that impression.

A lot of people started saying stuff immediately, like "Are you serious?" and "Shut the fuck up". I apologised for if I'd upset anyone by it, and I also said that I doubt Serj meant any harm by it. I was basically told that it was inexcusable to defend someone saying the n word (which isn't quite what I was doing, at least not in my mind). The chat was eventually muted for and I (and some other people) were told (by the same person who kept telling me to shut the fuck up) to "calm down", which felt a little hypocritical.

All in all, I just feel attacked. I really didn't mean any harm by it, and I don't feel I deserved to be treated like that. For some context, I am white, so my perspective on it may well be very different to a black person's, but I don't feel I said anything racist. That very much wasn't my intention anyway. I don't want to shit stir here either, I'm just wondering whether I actually am in the wrong here. The general consensus here from what I can tell is that Serj was bullied into saying it, and a lot of people seem to feel it isn't so deep, but maybe I'm wrong?

Sorry for writing so much, thank you if you actually did read all of it. Also sorry for any potential formatting issues, I'm on mobile.

How did you all discover and get in to SOAD?

I’m just asking out of curiosity as I am interested to know the stories behind how other fans got into SOAD.

For me, my Dad showed me Chop Suey!, one of his favourite songs after I’d recently discovered rock music but at the time, I think I found Chop Suey! too aggressive sounding and extreme when compared to the other music I was listening too. A month or two later, I’d been starting to listen to metal music and hard rock a lot more and I stumbled across Chic N’ Stu and was like, okay, I quite like this. From there, I listened to every single SOAD song over the next few weeks and grew to love their music more and more and learnt a lot about the band members and the meanings behind the lyrics. They very quickly became my favourite band!

The piano in Chop Suey.

Something I didn’t notice in years if listening to System of a Down until I finally listened to them on not a speaker but my headphones is the beautiful piano part at this point in the song. It is quite quiet and short but I thought it really added to the song in such an emotional way.

The piano here so sounds so raw and sad compared to the layer of anger the rest of the song has.

I was wondering how many people actually noticed it (I feel a bit stupid for not hearing it before tbh) and your take on it.
