What has V gone through for photo shoots?

Personally I think my V’s are all entirely traumatised. As soon as I mention a photo op or get out the photomode drone they would run screaming.

Just wondering the worst thing you’d done to your V’s for the purpose of photos? Mine is probably making her take six grenades to the face because I got the timing wrong five times. Also share your best pic(s) because why not.

The piano in Chop Suey.

Something I didn’t notice in years if listening to System of a Down until I finally listened to them on not a speaker but my headphones is the beautiful piano part at this point in the song. It is quite quiet and short but I thought it really added to the song in such an emotional way.

The piano here so sounds so raw and sad compared to the layer of anger the rest of the song has.

I was wondering how many people actually noticed it (I feel a bit stupid for not hearing it before tbh) and your take on it.

Anything I should know about slum settings and what not to do when writing them?

I’ve been doing some research online but was wondering if you had any tips on what not to include (or what’s often forgotten when writing them)? Maybe some good websites with information.

It’s a sci-fi setting (mid 2600s) on an ocean planet. The city is built on stilts over the water (because a billionaire wanted it three hundred years prior) that’s split into two parts: the tower and the slums. The tower is where the rich people and important people live. The immediate base of the tower is an ordinary city. The rest of the city (which expands away from the tower which is at the edge of the city).

[In Progress] [9,000] [Epic Political Fiction] One Shirtless Man (don’t judge the title 😂)

This would just be the first 2/4th’s of Part 1. It’s quite a heavy text atm and is just a group of people discussing this political issue in a fantasy setting.

I just need someone to double check my grammar, make sure it’s not boring/too slow, and just suggest some construction criticism.

I’d say in the text I do also lean into (what I hope to be) the subtleties of the language and discussions.

Also the title is a troll: there isn’t any romance in the book / any Shirtless Men (the title is planned to be linked in later tho)

[Complete] [3,000] [Fiction] What have you done?

Could someone beta read my book? It’s just a short story that I got round to writing because I had to scrap the start of my novel and needed to write something short first.

I’m not quite sure what the genre is.

Also I’m fully willing to beta read for other people. I won‘t be particularly good at beta reading romance however (just because it’s not something I enjoy reading unless it’s a sub-plot).
