Moving up a level, what to expect
My son will be playing U11 next season. This was his first year playing club ball and despite the age shift (he's a January birthday), he'll be moving up from the 2/3 team to the top team next year. As one of the oldest players this year, he relied a lot on his speed and power to score goals. I'm hoping to use the offseason to improve his skills so that he doesn't get a rude awakening next season, but I'm curious how much of a difference there is between levels at this age? Having scored a lot this past year and made the top team, he is not especially keen on doing skill work, so if there are any fun drills/games to play at home that would be welcome as well, tyia!
