I never thought much about it until the WBC and I’m sitting on my couch with my Italian girlfriend. Why is the name just completely butchered by everyone in the league, including Royals announcers? It should be pronounced “cag-li-a-no-ne” and somehow turns into “Cag-li-ohn.” Im a mariners fan and we butcher Dominic Canzone’s name, but the Caglianone thing is just insane.
