USPS lost the package back in February. The buyer waited nearly 3 months to reach out or take any action, and USPS Ground Advantage requires claims to be made within a 60-day window.

The buyer filed a chargeback in response, which I challenged once it prompted a payment dispute on eBay. If I lose, I will need to refund the buyer plus pay a $20 'dispute fee' to eBay.

It's not clear how eBay handles this based their Seller Protection Payment Dispute policies, but since it is the buyer's financial institution that decides, and since there is no proof of delivery (obviously - lost package), it seems like I will lose.

It's unfortunate for the buyer, but I don't think I should be held liable, as ultimately they forfeited the carrier insurance claim opportunity by waiting so long. I'm not really in a position to refund out of pocket either, as I was laid off and am just selling some personal items on eBay to improve my finances.

Am I handling this all correctly? Is there anything else I should be doing? Thanks.
