Help with component choices - Amd 7 9800x3d + 9070xt/5070ti build
Hi guys,
I’m building my first PC, and the only component I’m 100% sure about is the CPU: the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D.
When it comes to the GPU, these are the cheapest models that I can find (ptm or non-ptm):
- RTX 5070 Ti PNY (non-PTM, non-OC) — 730€
- RTX 5070 Ti MSI Gaming Trio (PTM) — 880€
- RX 9070 XT ASRock Challenger (non-PTM) — 620€
- RX 9070 XT PowerColor Hellhound (PTM) — 660€
I’m not sure what the best choice is. I can technically fit any of these into my budget, but I also know that buying a PTM model usually means more peace of mind, and potentially easier resale value in the future.
I’m also completely lost when it comes to the rest of the build:
- RAM - I'll be getting scammed hard here
- CPU cooler - I’m leaning more toward an air cooler since it seems less hassle than an AIO, but I don’t know which model would pair best with the 9800X3D.
- Motherboard - No ideia
- Case - A lot of space, not expensive, good cooling and don't care about looks
- Power supply - No ideia maybe buy a power supply with 1000w so that it can be future proof
- Monitor - Lived all my life with shitty 60hz monitors and have no clue what to buy besides it needing to be 140hz+ - max budget maybe 400€
- Storage - I already have a 1tb ssd that I bought for my laptop that I'll be using
What I’m looking for is the best bang-for-your-buck build possible price-to-performance is my main priority. I don’t care much about aesthetics; I care far more about functionality, reliability, thermals, and overall value.
The more I research, the more questions I end up having, so I’d really appreciate your opinions and suggestions on which GPU to choose and what other components would make the most sense for this build.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I am planning to game in 1440p, my max budget is like 2500€ and I live in Portugal
