People in this sub complain everyday about progression being too slow or too fast. I think I have an idea that can slow down progression for large groups contesting T3 Monuments immediately while also giving the little guy a flexible path to endgame without contesting cargo or rigs.

Locked crates and T3 Puzzles should provide 1 Advanced BP Fragment instead of 2. This will slow down the groups rushing these monuments. Many people propose a time gate and this is the best compromise without ruining the game for the speedrunners lol. These monuments will still give the best loot and provide the highest reward for completion while making the pages more valuable.

As for BP Frags, I think they can stay the same for the most part with a few tweaks.

  1. Lower requirement to upgrade to advanced fragment to 10-15 BP Fragments. This will make green and blue monuments more valuable to run for a longer period of time because you can gain a T3 from them. Little Jimmy doesn’t need to buy pages or hit cargo to get T3. I could actually farm 50 Bp frags by running blue cards for a t3 but 100 is just insane lmao.
  2. Add a vendor that will sell them for scrap. Maybe add them to outpost with the dynamic pricing starting at 150 scrap and maxing at like 250. People complain that scrap is useless, but keeping the cost somewhat high in scrap will stop this from being the best way to get a T2, while giving players the option to progress to mid game through scrap again. The extra scrap cost of the bench is offset by the lower cost to tech tree, so it may end up requiring the same amount of scrap to get T2 blueprints as it did in scrap meta days . BP Frags could also be added to the water pump shops on rotation with a set price and maybe run out after buying like 3 of them. There’s some element of luck/RNG. You’ll need to buy them out before someone else does if you don’t have the scrap.
  3. MAYBE Add them as a 2% drop to brown crates. Idk how I feel about this one but it definitely aids new/bad players getting that t2 while it doesn’t really add too much to progression to a T3

The logic here is to make t2 easily accessible to everyone (that’s when the game gets fun imo and most of the content becomes accessible). Buying frags with scrap to T3 isn’t viable by design, because I believe anyone has a chance to contest monuments and defend themselves when they have a Tommy lmao. You really should have to take a risk to get access to rockets and C4. they also get access to turrets and other base defense bps with T2 to help make a base more offline protected from those who do speed run to rockets day 1.

I think this idea will help progression by:
- Slowing down speed runners while T3 monuments remain the most efficient way to progress. Big groups will likely continue to run these monuments instead of controlling the green and blue monuments like during the scrap meta days.
- alternate routes to t2 for players who aren’t skilled enough to obtain bp frags at a fresh wipe in the current system.
- return a bit of value to scrap progression without bringing us back to brainless scrap grinding meta
- keep green and blue monuments more active into the wipe, as they will be a viable way to obtain a t3. We might see big fights at these places later into the wipe

I’d I’ve to hear the subs thoughts on this idea. Thanks if you read all of that!

I’m trying to understand why everyone complains so hard about this update. Been playing since 2017 so I’ve watched the game evolve through many of its eras. I play high pop vanilla servers solo or with a group of up to 5.

I truly think rust is the best it’s ever been in terms of depth and play-style options. Farming, player owned shops, NPC quests, time locked events, deep sea, multiple biomes, keycard puzzles, pvp, building, electricity, trolling other players, and other activities provide a never ending list of stuff to do.

People complain that every update is “pro clan.” Nothing in this game will benefit solos more than it will benefit clans. The numbers effect is a tale as old as time. It’s always been easier to play in a clan, and that will never change. Every update is better for clans period. Accept that and stop complaining because it will never work in the solos favor.

I believe BP frags system is actually better for solos. You need far less scrap. When I get my new workbench I can actually research things immediately instead of going to get more scrap after using most of it on the WB. We also don’t need to recycle as much for scrap. It makes crafting weapons and gear feel less expensive because I can keep my comps without feeling that progression is slowed. It breaks the never ending cycle of scrap gathering.

Everyone complains about running monuments, but there are methods of obtaining BP fragments without going near a monument. Go diving. Start a farm and sell teas for frags. Kill road scientists. Sell crude for fragments. Make a fast tiny boat with max sails and loot ghosts ships in deep sea in the final 30 min when groups are leaving. Metal detect. It is not that hard. T2 guns are good enough to get you T3 loot without a T3 WB.

I swear I see the same people complaining that they can’t run monuments for frags bc of competition but also complaining the middle of the map is dead… if you want pvp go roam and counter raids, oil, cargo, deep sea, launch, etc… the game ain’t dead. Progression is always too fast or too hard, never good. In reality I think it is fair and it involves strategy and luck rather than grinding. That is a much better game than barrel farming to AK.

Server population has always fizzled out towards the end of the weekly wipe. If you’re playing everyday best practice is to have a Thursday and Monday server on rotation so you always get to play higher pop. If you wanna play for a long time play monthly or biweekly. They’re a revolving door of new players. Or just play to the end of the weekly wipe

The game is in a great place and is full of depth in many areas. BP frags make the game less of a grind once you know how to get them and you’ll like it when you figure it out I promise.
