I’m writing this at almost 5 am because I’m desperate and trying to understand my caffeine sensitivity. I had one latte (not very big at all) at about 11 am yesterday, so it’s been well over 12 hours and I still haven’t slept one bit. I’ve eaten, I had a full day at work, and I drank plenty of water, but as I’m laying down trying to sleep I still feel like I’m having a heart attack. Everything I’ve seen says oh caffeine takes like 4-6 hours to metabolize…well clearly not for me! I know the solution is to not drink caffeine at all, which I’m normally good at, but it would be nice to have a fun drink at least occasionally without having to worry about not sleeping and then being a zombie the next day. I just wanted to know if this happens to anyone else or if maybe anyone else knows WHY this happens and why I might be so caffeine sensitive and have never really built up a tolerance.
