Advice with Coffee Jitters

Hello, I'm new to this sub and this is my first post.

I've been drinking coffee for about three years, usually around four times a week. About a year ago I started getting really bad jitters and anxiety after drinking it. I've tried lowering my caffeine to around 40 to 70 mg, but it still happens.

It feels like every little worry gets turned up way more than it normally would.
Recently I started making dalgona coffee with regular NESCAFÉ instant coffee, not the Gold one.

Today I made my first cup with 1 tablespoon of coffee in about an 8 oz cup. From what I've read that's around 40 to 60 mg of caffeine. It's been about two hours and I haven't had the same jitters yet, which surprised me.

I have two questions.

  1. If you've had the same problem with coffee, what helped you enjoy it without getting the jitters? Decaf gets rid of the jitters for me, but I don't enjoy it the same way.
  2. For anyone who makes dalgona coffee, what's your favorite way to make it? Do you keep it easy with sugar and water or do you use something different?

Now you're probably wondering why I waited so long to post about this. The reason is that it didn't start happening until about a year ago. Before that I could drink coffee without any problems.

Would like some clarity. Thanks

12+ espressos per day. How to manage?

Any supplement or compound that can be used simultaneously while lower caffeine?

Need to fix tolerance. At this point its mote side effects than benefits.

Weaker caffeine

Im use to having a black coffee, specifically dark blend strong stuff which doesnt do much to me now, but when i decide to buy a medium roast blend which is weaker, i experience a nice coffee buzz?

Anyone else?

It doesnt happen all the time but i have definitely noticed it before.

Quitting monster

New here; I am 3 weeks white monster free and 2 weeks coffee free. I’ve had 1 Diet Pepsi a day for the last week. Wondering what to expect cutting the Diet Pepsi. I’m hoping I did the hard work cutting the 2 monsters per day habit. Thanks!

Partner (45m)doesn’t drink coffee & I fear for my(44f) sanity. Has anyone had this type of experience?

Since my open-heart surgery in February, recovery has changed everything about how I function. I've had to slow down, prioritize deep sleep, and keep my stress as low as possible. I've also struggled with lifelong insomnia, and even caffeine has become unpredictable—sometimes it causes frightening heart palpitations.
What I need most in the morning is a little time to wake up. Instead, I'm often met immediately with conversations about bills, schedules, the house, or other important but non-urgent topics. Before I'm even fully awake, I'm expected to make decisions or process information, and I often agree just to end the conversation because my brain isn't ready yet.
What hurts is that my need for a slow morning has been treated like a dependence on coffee or tea instead of what it really is: part of recovering from major heart surgery and managing chronic insomnia.
I'm back to running my business and working out, and I'm doing everything I can to recover. I'm not asking to avoid responsibility—I'm simply asking for an hour of peace each morning so I can wake up before having important conversations. Right now, the stress has become so overwhelming that I dread mornings, and it's even starting to affect my sleep the night before.

caffeine pouches

background: i come from a circle where everyone drinks coffee and a lot of friends/coworkers either use nicotine pouches/vape

i don't dislike coffee but didn't have any interest in drinking it every day. i just started working a desk job and finally understand why people use stimulants. im in my early 20s and have never used stimulants in my life (aside from the small amounts you get through products such as ice tea and chocolate)

admittedly, nicotine pouches fascinated me. while im not anti-nicotine, my primary circle would frown on nicotine usage (nicotine = smoking addict lol even if it was pouches) so between that social pressure and not wanting to risk addiction given that nicotine has its downsides, i haven't tried nicotine pouches even though they're always around me.

anyway, back to my new job. there are instances where ive almost fallen asleep. its rarely exciting/stimulating. after 2 weeks of this job, i decided that i had to pick up a stimulant to help me get through the day. considering most people use stimulants through coffee and smoking, i didn't feel bad about doing so. that said, coffee was way too basic and uninteresting for my liking. energy drinks are a hard no for me. smoking/vaping carry far too many health/addiction risks + i am athletic. gum is okay but terrible when interacting with people. as stated earlier, pouches fascinated me.

i discovered coffee pouches were a thing. im in canada and as far as im aware, you can't buy them here (you can ship them here but that's expensive, especially for 1 can to try). well i had recently planned a trip to the usa where you can buy them in store.

i decided that id pick up a can and give them a try while i was there. they didn't carry any of the flavors i wanted to try but in the moment i decided to still get a can of a different flavor (vanilla).

as i drove back home, i put one in and gave it a try. ill be honest, there wasn't much flavor and it didn't give me any burn against my gums but it was a very relaxing and satisfying experience. i had previously tried have a piece of gum rest between my lip and gum just to get a feel before i got pouches but this was infinitely better. the caffeine didn't feel like it gave off a huge effect (slight boost, nothing major) but just the ritual of having a pouch between my gum and lip was very relaxing.

my question is, has anyone else randomly picked up caffeine pouches with no previous pouch/stimulant experience? am i making a major life mistake? i figured since it's caffeine the risk is much less than nicotine but unironically i might be using these daily. likely 1-3 per day.

just wanna hear some other opinions since i really have no one to talk to this about. im hoping this isn't a huge mistake but given that the pouches are made of coffee i can't foresee major issues especially if use is moderated and i don't keep them in the same spot all the time and i maintain good oral hygiene.

any replies appreciated, thanks

Caffeine

So lately I've been drinking 4-5 cups of coffee a day and I've just dealt with the anxiety. Yesterday I had less and I felt less shaky and more comfortable in public. So today I'm limiting myself to one and I'm just wondering what other people's opinions are on caffeine. I get paranoid when I physically shake

Possible Caffeine Threshold Drop

I’d describe myself as a typical 28 year old male. For years I’ve had 1 cup of standard coffee every morning, and sometimes I don’t even realize I’ve ingested it.

Lately, 15-20 minutes after finishing my morning cup I’ve experienced tons of anxiety and just an anxious, restless, jittery feeling. Sometimes it tries to progress to full blown panic for no reason.

I have an appointment with my doctor coming up and I’m for sure going to mention this-
I’m just curious if anybody else has had something similar happen? Able to consume caffeine regularly throughout their life but suddenly having issues with caffeine seemingly out of nowhere?

Taco bell ruined me

So apparently no one ever mentioned to me that zero sugar sodas have caffeine content. I sat down in taco bell to do sme work thsi morning and taking advantage of their free refill system I must've downed at least 12 large cups of various zero sugar soda like pepsi and baja blast. I'm currently drinking baja blast zero right now. I google it and wdym a cup can contain up to 100 mg! My heart must be on fire rn, anyways have any of you experienced this and should I minimize my coke zero intake>

Is there any energy shots on the market that only contain caffeine as far as active chemicals go?

Every time I get an energy shot, even a sip of it will make me way more jittery than a whole Red Bull. I know Red Bull probably has some other things in there too, but I wanted to see if there were any energy shots on the market that only contain Caffeine & Flavoring etc. with no other active chemicals that would make me jittery. Im probably going to end up buying caffeine pills at this point though.

Caffeine is great but….

I use to not be a caffeine drinker

No tea, no coffee, no energy drinks.

But since work I have been needing it.

However, I keep myself specific rules.

No caffeine before water or 60mins after waking up.

No caffeine after 12pm.

Is this over the top? Or do you think I can be less restrictive.

Possibly need to restrict it less or track it better.

What do you think?

Caffeine + Wellbutrin ⚠️

Wow. Maybe don’t do it.

*Note: this is just my personal experience, we all know every body is unique and every person experiences medications and chemicals in different ways*

Pre-Wellbutrin (WB) I had 4 shots of espresso per day.

WB is NOT a stimulant.

I started WB and had a clinched jaw for the full first week, found on Google that maybe it’s caffeine. Doctor was unaware of this potential interaction, checked computer notes. It wasn’t mentioned. This is my primary reason for sharing.

Cut caffeine out, felt great. Started having a little bit at a time here and there. No more than 1 shot espresso per day. Was having caffeine idk maybe a month?

Had a full on mental breakdown.

It took me like a week to realize the menty B was probably caffeine. So I quit again.

Felt great after, awesome, definitely was the caffeine.

Fast forward to yesterday, my usual decaf haunt had a new person working in the back. Everyone who’s normally there knows my order, knows it’s decaf. They gave me 3 shots of espresso.

I didn’t realize until probably 11pm, I was wide awake still when I should have been easily going to bed by that point.

Now (noon the next day) I still lowkey feel like I’m on crack 😅 my jaw is really tight and I’m feeling it all in my body.

Just a warning based on what I’ve experienced. ⚠️
