ENM dating someone new & open to ENM
I (32F) am ENM and was single for a couple years, had a couple meta who are partnered, very casual and still keep in touch but I started dating someone more seriously and told him (28M) I’m ENM and he was okay with it.
At first, he explored seeing someone which we were open about and was excited Sadly, he tried a spur of moment hang out with them, but had already made plans with me where I had been waiting for him so the other person ended up calling things off cause he rushed to see me and felt really bad.
We decided to close for a year and reevaluate once we established some trust and foundation. It’s now past that time and I feel stuck. I feel like I want to have a partner who I can be 100% open with, but he kinda wants a dont-ask-dont-tell policy which for me feels super awkward and sneaky.
We are open to counseling but our schedules are all over the place and where we live I havent found any options.
Anyone been in the situation before? Maybe some advice or tips?
I feel manipulative “pushing” my needs of ENM, even though I know it’s not bad but I haven’t had this run in before.
